PS2 should I get it?

I have more than enough money to get any system.So should I get it?
Or should I get something else?(I already have G Cube)
And if I do get PS2 should I get the special pack that comes with games or I should I get the regular PS2 and if I do get the regular pack my mom said she'd get me 3 or 5 games with it.
So what should I do?

Absolutley get a PS2, its the best of the 3 big consoles. there are a bunch of awesome games for it, and if you are an RPG fan you will love it. regardless of wether u like those or not, id also suggest u get Kingdom HEarts, its an awesome game.

You should get a PS2 if you already have a Gamecube. I personaly think that PS2 is the second best system, but still I great system. I suggest getting Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy X, and Final Fantasy X-2. Your choices are far greater with the PS2 than with any other system. PS2 was out a whole year before the others and it can play all PS1 games. So you have a wide choice of games to choose from. It also plays most DVDs.

Wait 'til the price drops a little, then get it. Seeing as how you can play PS1's as well, and the PS system has the best RPG's, I see little reason to not get it.

since i got mine a couple of years ago, its provided nothing but hapiness and peace of mind, occasionally u get a game like metroid prime or something that doesnt come ou on PS2, but thats very rarely, and u wont get the FF on the other systems lol (dont mention that gamecube game lol, thats not even FF in my eyes lol)

PS2 has the biggest library as well, so u can rest assured that u will get something u want, and personally, the PS2 controller is a godsend, the best controller in history!

if not for anything else, get it for the controller lol

Sony has been into gameing much longer then the xbox , so sony knows what they are doing .. and they got wicked game companys , so that means ps2 got 10 times better games .. ( Yes the xbox is more buffed up , it dont mean anything ) and for the person who started this thred .. the answer for you is: YES , Also once you get the ps2 get the online box .. online games make it much much much more funner when you can play around the world .. so for those of you who do not have the online box , i advise you to get it .. beacuse soon like all the games are gana be online .. and it is soo much fun .. :cool:

I say get it for the library. You can play both PS and PS2 games, and there are tons of both that are of good quality. X-Box can't compare to that.

plus PSX games are so good, like FF7, 8, Chrono Cross etc etc etc

Well, you did post this in the Playstation 2 board. Did you expect people not to say PS2? If I were you, I would get an xbox. Halo, Halo 2 (november 9th), KotOR, Splinter Cell 1&2, Rainbow 63 and the new one out soon, counterstrike, etc, etc. Plus, games like Doom 3 and full spectrum warrior are coming out soon. Also, xbox live is a billion times better than PS2 Online, so I would invest in an xbox, because it is just going to get better.

PS, to the person who said xbox controllers are no good.

But, a Xbox is a good investment aswell. But seeing as you made this in the PS2 section, I assumed you where leaning towards that console.

I would suggest getting a Xbox, above a PS2 (though its my personal preferance) There are alot of promising games coming out for it (Fable, KOTOR 2, Halo 2, Doom 3, Half Life 2, True Fantasy Live online, Jade Empire). But it says somthing that you made this in the ps2 section. So, mabey even sub contiously you are leaning towards that console.

So, I would still suggest the PS2. I think you would just have more fun with it.

You should get one, even if it is a bit late. I mean, I only got mine this year (although if I had enough money I would also have bought a Gamecube.) , and I heard that PS3 doesn't even have a release date yet (I'm not sure, don't quote me on that). However, it really depends on your personal preference. IF you like RPGs, the PS2. If you like FPSs (Which I don't, which is why I don't have X-Box) get the Box. If you like Nintendo games and updated classics (like Zelda, Metroid, Pokemon) then I would say get a Gamecube.
