Ok I can get past all of these guys except for Steven  . Here is my party:

Walrein@nevermeltice lv.48
Blizzard
Ice Beam
Ice Ball
Aurora Beam

Torkoal@charcoal lv.48
Flamethrower
Strength (how do I remove this)
Overheat
Heatwave

Sceptile@miracleseed lv.58
Leaf Blade
Slam
Solarbeam
Dragon Claw

Lanturn@sea incense lv.46
Thunder
Spark
Body Slam
Hydro Pump

What am I doing wrong. I stock up on Hyperpotions and that kind of stuff. If you want me to make an egg move in there well too bad cuz i'm not wasting my time. Tell me though if there is a TM reccomendation. I'm also training a Ralts and a Bagon.

Salamence@dragonfang lv, who knows
Dragon claw
Twister
Dragon Rage
Dragonbreathe

Walrein@Chesto
Blizzard
Sheer Cold
Rest
Sleep Talk

You had four moves of the same type, not good.

Torkoal@charcoal
Flamethrower
Amnesia
Overheat
Iron Defense

Strength can be removed by Heart Scale, give it to the move deleter next to large store in Liycove I believe.

Sceptile@miracleseed
Leaf Blade
Earthquake
Solarbeam / Toxic
Dragon Claw

Lanturn@sea incense
Thunder
Toxic
Thunder Wave
Hydro Pump / Surf

Salamence@dragonfang
Dragon claw
Hydro Pump
Fly
Dragonbreathe

Not the best at Salamance =/

Walrein could use some move variety/training, get rid of ice ball and aurora beam.

Torkoal also needs variety/training, to get rid of strength talk to the move deleter in Lilycove(heart scale is not needed)

I think Sceptile looks good in moves and lvls!

Train it to and if u want the water boost use mystic water.

Salamence NEEDS move variety!!!

Also adopt some sort of strategy

Ok I can get past all of these guys except for Steven  . Here is my party:

Walrein@nevermeltice lv.48
Blizzard
Ice Beam
Ice Ball
Aurora Beam

well... alll Ice attacks is POINTLESS... get rid of everything but Ice Beam... give it Surf... there isnt a ton of stuff that Walrein can do...

Torkoal@charcoal lv.48
Flamethrower
Strength (how do I remove this) Move deleter in Lilycove
Overheat
Heatwave

again, using attacks that are all the same type is pointless...

Sceptile@miracleseed lv.58
Leaf Blade
Slam
Solarbeam
Dragon Claw

unless you have Sunny Day, Solarbeam is poinltess... Slam is a pointless attack...

Lanturn@sea incense lv.46
Thunder
Spark
Body Slam
Hydro Pump

What am I doing wrong. everything...
I stock up on Hyperpotions and that kind of stuff. that doesnt help if you cant take down a variety of pokemon...
If you want me to make an egg move in there well too bad cuz i'm not wasting my time. quit the game now... if you arent willing to spend the time to breed, dont bother with the game...
Tell me though if there is a TM reccomendation. I'm also training a Ralts and a Bagon.

Salamence@dragonfang lv, who knows
Dragon claw
Twister
Dragon Rage
Dragonbreathe

you have to put forth some effort...

maybe i shouldn't have asked for a new party sort of thing. I was only having trouble with steven's metagross. I can take care of the other guys easily. (don't know why though) Anyhow what is the best way to take care of that annoying weasel? Is torkoal a good choice or do I have to make him faster? Thanks for all of the suggestions. I made a mistake on the "i won't have egg moves" thing.

You should be able to beat metagross if you teach salamence earthquake. I defeated it with blaziken's overheat, but I don't know about torkoal.

I like registeel a lot. If a pokemon you need faints, switch to registeel, use revive, and switch back. You can also use it against metagross, teach it rest, curse, and amnesia, and just keep it out as long as possible to so metagross loses pp. There's a good chance it will use up it's 5 hyper beam (steven's metagross knows hyper beam right??) power points on registeel before it faints.

The only hindering points of your team that I can see are the combinations of similar attacks (i.e. Blizzard and Ice Beam) on the same member. Just add a variety of different type attacks to each pokémon and you shouldn't have a lot of trouble with Steven. A well-aimed Overheat would do the trick in a heartbeat. I'd recommend a bit of training before you try again though, you should be at least level 50 with everyone.

To get rid of HM moves, visit the Move Deleter in Lilycove City. His house is right of the Poké Mart.

With some thoght you can beat the elite four with some effort at level 45 with 6 pokemon +hyper potions and items.

Give walrein surf at least so you can kill metagross im sure it can kill it if you give it surf. (or at least hurt it)

THAT IS A DISGRACE TO SALAMENCE.

Give it something like this so it doesnt suck like it does

earthquake (use the tm)
fire blast
crunch
dragon claw

that should be able to kill metagross

I beat the entire Elite Four with a level 86 Slaking and a few Hyper Potions. I think it was Hyper Beam, Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt, and Brick Break.

Yeah, I believe that was it.

Yes, but generally the Elite Four become easier at higher levels.

need better variety...

not fire blast flamethrower has more accuracy and more PP...(on salamence)

all u need is a few strong pokes with a figting move( the first and third people) a dark move(second) an ice or dragon move(4th) and your on to steven. get a strong surfer and youll take down 5 pokes. use figting or steel to take out cradily...(I HATE that thing  )

A couple of my pokemon where level 39 and I didn't have any pokemon higher than 45 when I battled the elite four because I'm lazy. It helps to get them near 50 but you don't really need to.

more questions about now. Should I have Whiscash? What is a good move set for him? And should I teach my Torkoal Iron Tail for Cradily? Oh yeah I taught the Earthquake TM to my Dusclops before I went to this message board.

Spike9123

Eh, I wouldn't go with a Whiscash. . . If you want a water Pokemon, go with Ludicolo. He pwns. Armaldo comes to mind, but he can be destroyed pretty fast. . . If it's possible, try to get a Kingdra.

you should have a 6th pokemon no matter who it is why dont you have grouden/kyrouge

Spike9123
02-01-2004, 08:42 AM
Heh, oh yeah. Like he said. It's okay to have legendaries on your ingame team, that's why you catch them in the first place. To use them.

Venusaur1
02-01-2004, 08:47 AM
so uhave him but you dont use him?

Spike9123
02-01-2004, 08:51 AM
Me? I just got Sapphire and I restarted Ruby, so I don't currently have them. I use them to beat the final gym leader and to maybe help a little against the Elite Four, but when I'm done with the game, I find it kinda cheesey to use legendaries. I can't wait until I'm done with my team. . . Beat the crap out of my friends.

Venusaur1

Good Luck if all your friends have legendarys....

Spike9123

Here's the thing:

My friends don't EV Train, and they don't use good moves. They'll have a fire Pokemon and make it have all fire moves. Or, if they do have a different kind of moves, it'll be incredibley crappy and they'll use it because they think it's cool. I'll bet they'll keep Double Kick on a Blaziken. . . Plus, the team I just posted is pretty powerful if you think about it. Right?

Venusaur1
02-01-2004, 01:26 PM
thats what ido like when i get FR im gonna either have bulbasaur/venusaur (cant decide if i want to evolve it) i dont EV trai n ijust train and i will teach it like Frenzy Plant, SolarBeam, Giga Drain and razor leaf

but that is pointless... its not reaching it's potential...

I play for fun not for brute strength and ultimate power like people here do making the most unbeatable team they can think of I have my own strategies even tho i may get type advantaged
