Who do you guys think is going to be killed next from the Order?
I think that it's going to be Mad-Eye. He isn't afraid to go into danger, but his age is starting to catch up to him, imo.

Maybe Lupin will die? He is after all the last person Harry has that was really close to his dad. I just hope its not Fred or George (assuming of course that they join the order), it would be aweful sad if one of them died while the other lived on.
BTW i know there are other people who knew Harry's dad (Dumbledore, Mcgonagall, Snape, etc) but they were probably not as close to him as Lupin (being a friend of his in school and all)

I wan't Hagrid to die.

Lupin. He's been acting tired and drained, I think, so he'd probably be more susceptible than the others in a fight, or he might not notice something important...

Dumbledore has to die soon or else Harry won't need to fight Voldermort as Dumbledore will just keep fighting him.

Well, Dumbledore could always fight alongside Harry.

I think that Voldemort and his Death eaters will kill everyone on the Order, with the exception of , Snape, Lupin and Dumbledore. (They will die later...... :) )

Lupin maybe, he doesn't seem that much of an important character.

He's going to become important now, as he is the only one of James foursome of friends who is left to help Harry, other than Pettigrew but he's a Death Eater.

this is true... i just really hope it isn't hagrid or dumbledore... and it is important for dumbledore to be there because he is the leader of the Order and he helps Harry through almost everything he gets into. I'm thinking it might be somebody not as important to the plotline. Maybe someone like Kingsley Shacklebolot or Tonks or someone like that that were in the fifth book but didn't play a huge role...
Shining Celebi

I don't think Tonks or Kingsley will be killed, they're new characters and it wouldn't have that much of an effect on readers if they were killed, unless they recieved a lot of characterization first.

Again this is true... just a theory, Rowling is so mysterious it's hard to predict who is going to be killed because if you had told me she was going to kill sirius, i would have said no way. Everybody keeps saying Hagrid and Dumbledore but I just can't see her killing off two of Harry's most important friends/mentors. I think they are just too important to the plot. Also people say Ron or Hermione and again I don't think she will because they have been there from the beginning.

Definitely. If she kills off Lupin, Harry won't have any direct connections to his father's past that are willing to help. It wouldn't be right...
It seems ominous, but I'm beginning to think Dumbledore may go soon.

But Voldemort didn't seem to be able to really do anything to Dumbledore except counter his attacks, so I think he's pretty safe unless he's forced into a bad position...

The problem is, killing off a character everyone likes gets emotional impact, so maybe you shouldn't say that. :p

I don't think Dumbledore will be killed in Book Six...I think he'll lead the Order against the Death Eaters, but he'll be killed in Book Seven by Voldemort, and that pushes Harry to fulfill the prophecy.

I guess you're right about Voldemort's inability to attack Dumbledore... then that puts 2 characters out of the picture. What about Mad-Eye? He's important, yes, but he doesn't have the same leading roles as some of the others.

xxx Well, I agree with Crusader and I think Lupin, Moody, or maybe Ron or Hermoine because they're so close to Harry.

I don't see Ron or Hermione dieing in the books...I think it would more likely be Neville, Fred or George, or Cho Chang who end up dieing along the younger people. Ron and Hermione are just too important to the books, but I could see a twist with one of them being killed, I just don't see it actually happening.
Hermione and Ron will not be dying. JK has already confirmed they won't be dying so get that out of your heads now. Seriously what's with wanting the good guys to die? Good Lord, I can't believe there's actually people talking about killing off so many good characters. I'm seriously sitting here thinking, "What the hell?" Why would Dumbledore die? Sure Sirius died and it's sad as well as a good twist to the story, but please. These books aren't the Chronicles of Harry Potter's sad, death-filled, sorrowful last days. Good Lord people.

My picks for people to die in the next 2 books:
Lupin(silver hand?)
Hagrid(tough loss)
Dumbledore(Die at the hands of Voldie)
Snape(Strong possibility)
Ron or Harry(which one stood up first at the table of thirteen?)
One of the Weasley's(Don't ask me which one)
In response to RCG:
For Goodness sakes, this series isn't about coming in all nice and pretty in the end. Do you have the view of this book as being the nice way of growing up. Harry's life is surronded by death and like it or not, there will be losses (Character wise, mind you). The truth is, Nobody was expecting Sirius' Death and it was a big shock to all HP fans. If IT can happen to Sirius (One of my favorite Characters in the Series), then it can happen to anybody.
The Truth's painful, ain't it?

It might be Lupin. There's only two of the four delinquents left and he's one of them. I have a sad feeling he could be it. Who I hope it is is Dudley.
um yeah how many main characters, especially non-evil ones, had died before Order of the Pheonix? Just because Sirius died, which was a good twist, doesn't mean its a predictable and sad scenario. These books ARE good times. While Harry's world is screwed up, it doesn't mean we should be eagerly looking forward to the next untimely death of a fan favorite. In fact, I highly believe that not one more main character will die. Not Lupin, not Hermione or Ron, not Hagrid, and definitely not Dumbledore or any of the Weasleys. If it was JK's intention to kill off one of her creations once per book, I'd think we'd have known about it going into book 3 as she killed off Professor McGonagall and maybe one of the Weasley Twins; fact of the matter is Sirius was a shock because it was the first of its kind after 5 books.

Hermione is extreme safe. She's a mary sue. JK has based Hermione on herself. She wouldn't kill herself.
Dumbledore though... Think about it. As you've read the books, how many times have you been reminded that at the height of Voldemort's power, the only person he feared was Dumbledore? The only way for Voldemort to be taken seriously is for him to display his new found power and his announce his grand return to glory by offing the most powerful wizard. Dumbledore will fall.
Personally, I'd like to see Hedwig offed. Blood and ashes, I hate that bird.

How dare you?
Ah well, it's your opinion...
I think Cho will die... Take her place beside... Whats-his-face... (Fredrick?)
Dumbledor has a good chance of going in mid-book 7...
Ain't no way Dumbledore's gonna die. JK cried after killing off a three year character that was much less developed. Dumbledore would be a 7-year character that JK had in mind from first conception. Why would he die? It's like Tolkein deciding Gandalf should die as Frodo completes his mission...sounds stupid after we've read the books and know the story. Truth is Gandalf was Tolkein's creation, and beloved.
The only way I see anyone from the first book dying in the 7th is if its a flash forward and Harry's like 30. Dumbledore can die then... Frankly, all this talk makes me sick. If Sirius hadn't died, no one would be having these morbid suggestions in the first place. One person died - it doesn't mean everyone needs to die, ¬_¬ including Harry.

Lupin(silver hand?)
I just wanted to say I love your sig. BEST SIG EVER.
Sorry.
But I do think Lupin, and the silver hand thing, hmm...
Lupin's my favourite character. Since reading PoA, he's been my favourite, and if he died I think I'd be as bad as Holly was with Sirius, but really, if anyone's going to die in the next book *touch wood* Lupin seems most likely.
He's lost all his best friends to Voldemort (or his Death Eaters, and Wormtail becoming one counts) now, and really, what's he got?
The only things he has left are the Order, and Harry (would he become Harry's guardian now? I mean, not counting the Dursley's obviously, but you know what I mean). Something big's going to happen there, I'm sure, I just don't know what... whether it'll be some sort of depression... or throwing himself full into fighting, in the hope of.. well, not hope exactly, but that if he dies, he does it fighting to the end, like Sirius and James, and...
:\
I don't know what's going to happen, but I really hope that no one major dies in the next book because the most likely candidate I can see is Lupin, and Lupin pwnz.
Argh.
When is this book going to be finished?

I think Cho will die. and call me crazy but i seriosly think Hedwig will die in one of the upcoming books. I dont want it to happen but i think Hedwig will.
I was right before the 5th book came out that Sirius would die. So maybe im right again?

I also think Cho will die, leaving Harry miserable that he didn't go after her.
I also think that Dumbledore's gonna leap into the line of fire and take a blow for Harry, who knows, I'm crazy.

OK, I know this is a bit of a dead topic (it was like... bottom of the last page. XD) but no one ever replied to my points, and someone just reminded me of them in the 6th book topic, so I thought I'd up this so people can keep the death discussions separate from the rest of book 6 discussion.
And so people can reply to my points. XP
I've already given my thoughts. I don't think anyone major will die. Geez if you wanna off someone, try the Malfoys.

In the OotP, I was really expecting Hagrid to die so I was very surprised to find that he didn't, but I have the stangest feeling that he's gonna croak anyways... I don't want him to since he's one of my favorite characters but I really think it's going to happen eventually, so my bet on who's gonna die in the 6th book is on him or one of the Weasleys... if it's to be one of the Weasley's, I just hope it won't be one of the twins, I'm attached to them. >_<
