Can you use cheats on PKMN Ruby and Sapphire without a Gameshark, like you could on Pokemon Red? Thanks in advance.

There are some cheats, but I've never tried any.
I've been thinking of trying the shiny ditto cheat, but I forget what it is.
Action replay is better than gameshark, there's less of a chance it will ruin your game.

Really? Wow, that's incredible. How did anybody ever figure that out, that's crazy. Thanks guys, you can lock this if you want. I left a mesage in the RTC as well, in the Sergery Topic.

I'm not a mod in this forum, there's a list at the bottom.

My bad... I feel idiotic now, sorry Linzoy. Anyway, may as well leave this open. And I may as well ask my other question while I have the chance, what are Shiny Pokemon? I am drinking some really horrible Vimto now. ugh.

You'll definitly notice it when you run into a shiny. As said before, they're a different color, and you'll see a few sparkly stars go across the screen when you encounter it in the wild.

There's a lot of shinys you wouldn't notice. Shiny natu, for example, is a slightly lighter shade of green than a regular natu.

Aren't you not able to run from wild Shiny fights also?

you can tell because you see stars and the music and you CAN run

Today I decided that I wanted the berry that raises special defense, so I tried to cheat in all the rarest berries. I got two sets of 99 berries, for each berry. I shut it off and tried again. I looked at my berries and the screen went all green and froze. I did it again and the same thing happened. Finally I stopped trying to get the berries and everything was ok. So if anyone wants to try the berry cheat, I wouldn't recomend it.

Why would you want to run? =p Catch the oh so shiney Pokemon.

Action replay.
After the berry thing I found out my sister had been useing my ar without permission to catch an eevee. She already CAUGHT an eevee, but she "doesn't like it any more" for some reason. She must have done something to it.

Question on Action Replay - Do cheats used on R/S work better if you have just started the game at the beginning than further along in it or does it not matter where you are?

why would it matter where you are?

One of my friends has an AR thingie and she said that it worked great on her new Ruby file but not on one that had been there longer. Don't know whether to believe her or not  I suppose it works like the GameShark with a chance of messing up the game..

Yeah, I think glitches are pretty much random, you don't know what kind of screwy thing it could do to your cartridge.

Linzoy, that's happened to me a few times. When you enter the code on AR, before you save, go to the berry section and see if it freezes. If it doesn't, then you're good to go. If it does, just rinse and repeat.

I did the Berry cheat last night.
The problem is it gave me duplicates of some Berries (i.e., 99 Lansat Berries, and then another 99.) I had already saved my game, so I thought I was screwed; I could access the berries, but the extra data had corrupted the TMs/HMs pocket. To fix it, dump the extra berries and simply enter the TM/HM codes.
