Short GAMES?

I'm newb to DM but it seems ridiciously easy to win. In five turns the games can end, why would anyone bother attacking monsters when they can take down A shield a turn?

It seemed exactly like that to me as well IMW, however, when you actually get to play the game against someone, you'll notice that you'll almost never get the game done in five turns. Attackers, spells, shield triggers, etc will modify and screw up your plans. Monsters will die, bounce back to your hand, or you'll focus on blocking for a bit. Jiraiya said it correctly, the game is more complicated than initially thought.
