Team battles = two yugioh teams facing off against each other, each team's rep against the others, if a player wins, their team gets a point, after all the matches are over or if it's the best of 5 or something, team with most points wins. Or survival matches like East vs. West had..

survival is when a team faces off (like west vs east)
"west player 1 vs east player 1"
whoever wins plays the next opponent of the opposing team and the loser is eiminated
so it'd be "west player 1 vs east player 2" for example and etc. until there are no remaining players in which case that team loses
endurance is a "best of" kinda thing
where even if you win you stop playing and whoever wins the most matches wins the "war"
T= team P= player
T1 P1 vs T2 P1
T1 P2 vs T2 P2
T1 P3 vs T2 P3
T1 P4 vs T2 P4
T1 P5 vs T2 P5 and etc. (its best to have an odd number for this kind of matchup)
in the above case whichever team won 3, 4 or 5 matches wins

Er...I was pretty sure that Endurance/Survival were two different names for the same thing. You could call the old format Standard, but yeah...Endurance/Survival pretty much have the same connotation and meaning, ie play until you lose. Standard is straight-up pairings; the team with the most match wins, wins.
Examples:
-Standard: CO vs Savage
-Survival: East Coast vs West Coast
