Which is better?

Paladin of white dragon

pros:
special summon
has a mslv2 effect
1900 atk (destroyes any non-tribute monster commonly played except cyber dragon)
special summons bewd
combos with burst stream of destruction
searches bewd from the deck

cons
ritual(-1 advantage)
leads to bad hands

kiabaman

pros
special summons bewd
warrior
level 3
can be searched by sangan

cons
normal summon

I prefer paladin, but witch do you think is better? We can throw in kaiser seahorse into the mix too.

Let me see, for no fewer than 3 cards I can summon Paladin, attack and offer it to summon Bewd from the deck that can't attack this turn. For 2 cards in hand Kaibaman + BEWD I can summon BEWD from my hand.

Paladin and its ritual are searched by Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands, who also makes awesome tribute for the ritual to summon Paladin. You have to normal or flip summon Manju for its effect. No special summoning.

Or I can have a BEWD in my hand and a Reinforcements. Play Reinforcements get Kaibaman. Normal summon Kaibaman and tribute for BEWD.

Both methods are slow and take at least 2 cards out of your hand. Both methods get to search out parts from deck. If you can get the cards to hand Kaibaman is undeniably faster and more cost effective. Manju can search out either the ritual or monster from deck which when summoned then searches out BEWD from deck. You can actually use only 2 cards from hand if you use Manju to fetch the ritual or monster.

My suggestion would be run 1 or 2 Manju, 2 copies of Paladin and ritual and 1 Kaibaman + Reinforcements.

They're both worthless....

Oh! In a Blue-Eyes deck you mean? You should probably say that next time...otherwise, ppl won't know that you mean a BEWD deck specifically.

Anyways, literal phrase criticism behind, I'd say Paladin of White Dragon. It's searchable by Manju, while Kaibaman is searchable by Shining Angel. You have to have a BEWD in hand to use Kaibaman, while you can just get BEWD from your deck with PoWD. Plus, Kaibaman can't hold its own, while PoWD can be used as a very reliable beat stick.

Let's review:

Paladin:
2 Cards minimum required to summon. Need to get both the Ritual and the Monster itself. Sturdy 1900 ATK Power. MSlv2 effect. Ability to go into deck to get BEWD out effectively.

Kaibaman:
Requires a summon. Bad Topdeck (then again, so is Paladin) Very weak attack. If you cannot use his effect right away, he is essentially useless. Easier to Summon.

Plus, Kaibaman is the only card in existance that makes a connection between the card game and the anime, which makes me dislike it even more >.>

Kaibaman probably makes a better topdeck. I call it a chump blocker. Paladin can't do that. Also, if you got stuck with a BEWD in hand somewhere along the line, you got a good way to whip it out.

Paladin is better on it's own, but drains more resource.

So it's all up to how much you're willing to give. If you're willing to toss Manju and a couple copies of Paladin + Ritual, you get a more reliable engine, but a far worse topdeck.

Or you can go the somewhat safer route and use Kaibaman, who's easier to search out and makes a slightly better topdeck.

They've both got merits, so it all depends on what you're willing to give.

I like Kaibaman personally, as I feel he's less likely to screw you.

I vastly prefer Paladin of White Dragon, mainly because it makes sure that BEWD doesn't ever hit the hand (given a good build and decent luck). The cost from your hand is basically the same (assuming you use Manju as searcher + Ritual fodder, and you should), but the combo for Paladin (Summon Manju, search Ritual piece, Ritual Summon Paladin using Manju for the Ritual fodder) also thins two bad topdecks out of your deck. That Paladin of White Dragon is an effective battler is no small bonus.

both royally suck, too much effort to get a vinalla monster out if you ask me.
anyways, palidin isn't a -1 summoing like the first poster obviously wishes he is, he is a -2, the ritual card and the discard, and sense you are GOING to get rid of palidin, a -3 just to get out a 3000 attack monster thats about to be smashing'ed, saku'ed (your next turn) snatched, brain'ed soul exchanged, torrentail'ed, bottomlessed, or any other form of removal around, and after the dust is setteled, your down 4 cards, and your opponent? 1,this can be said of ALL monsters, though as long as you don't waste more than 2 cards on a single monster, it won't get to brutal.

I prefer the Paladin.

Paladin looks cool and I like his effect, but you have to devote to much deck space just for him in which you could be using much better cards that can give you a great advantage.

As for Kaibaman, I have seen plenty of decks running a Light Warrior+BEWD Hybird.

If you toss them into any BEWD deck without thinking you will get so screwed it aint funny. But if you prepare the deck to match both their criteria they can be quite powerful

In all truth I would say Kaibaman>Paladin

Kaibaman is just easier to search and doesn't take up to much room.

Hmmm, a light deck with Freed the Brave Wanderer or Soul of Purity and Light with Bewd in it. That's an interesting concept.

BEWD-light
Paladin-light
Kaibaman-light
Manju-light
Freed the Brave Wanderer-light
Soul of Purity and Light-light

I could see that working. Throw in a Thunder Nyan Nyan for a simple beatstick.

Yeah, maybe I am a bit prejudice to rituals, but I honestly think dedicating 2+2+2-6/40 cards is to much for Paladin.

But I like your idea, RftDD might combo well with all of those

I forget that Cyber Dragons are light too. If you wanted to use them for extra beatsticks instead of the Thunder Nyan Nyan.

EDIT: And Mirage Dragons too. They are light and dragon + the negate traps in the battle phase.

Personally, I like both of them for different reasons. Pladin of White Dragon has decent stats and a good effect, but Kaibman makes it easier to summon BEWD. If I made a Blue Eyes deck, I'd run both. You won't always have a BEWD in your hand, and at least Paladin is useful when you ritual summon him.
