Hey, all, in today's article I will be speaking about how our good friend Dust Tornado, who may still be seen in many decks today, is slowly slipping out of power. Kinda like the liberals! (Canadian joke)

Now,as I'm sure all of you have noticed, FFC has pretty much overtaken Warrior Control as the most commonly played decktype. There are many reasons for this, hand advantage gained with flips, field advantage gained with monarchs, but I won't get into that. What I AM getting at, is that the numerous 1 for 1 protection traps such as Trap Hole, BTH, and Sak Armour allow the FFC player to keep their flip monsters alive. In most if not all of these decks, Dust Tornado has been discarded for one of the afore mentioned protection traps due to the +1 that a flipped Dekoichi on your turn can get you. In most other decks as well, Dust Tornado has been replaced by either quickplay spells like MBaaS that can breakthrough FFC defenses, or the twice before mentioned protection traps to lay waste to the monarchs.

As well, with more and more monsters showing up, and Don Zaloogs and Reapers running rampant, topdecks are more and more important. Dust Tornado, while not the worst card you can rip off the top, is pretty far down there. Most people have turned to those protection traps to help combat against the many monster topdecks.

Next, comes the issue of S/T removal. Once again, Dust Tornado has been overshadowed. It sems now that not one but 2 Mobius have become the norm, and there is simply no need for the windy little trap. Not only that, but the infamous Strike Ninja can also serve as M/T removal as he "Dodges" Sak Armours and the like. I am sad to say, ladies and gentleman, that the current advanced format has grown to be far too fast for Dust Tornado, and I predict his use will go down and down from maindecks until it becomes only a sidedeck card.

Now some of you may recall that in the last format, I wrote an article totally opposite from this one praising Dust Tornado. Things were different back then, however. Mobius was easily squashed by Ring of Destruction, and Airknight and TER were rampant. The slow games of the Goat Control era made Dust Tornado the perfect teched out pick. It could punish any single set scapegoats, and could allow for massive Airknight and Soldier blitzes. But, as I have stated before, the format has sped up dramatically, and I fear that there is no room for Dust Tornado amongst 3 Sak Armours and multiple Trap Holes and Widespread Ruin.

Therefore, my article comes to a close. I would just like to say that Dust Tornado is seen in almost no decks in my metagame, and has been relegated to sidedecks. I would love to hear your thoughts on how popular Dust Tornado is in your metagame and if you agree with my prediction or not. Discuss.

So siggable. COME ON.....

It's because the only things worth using Dust on is Stall or Decree.

As well, with more and more monsters showing up, and Don Zaloogs and Reapers running rampant, topdecks are more and more important. Dust Tornado, while not the worst card you can rip off the top, is pretty far down there. Most people have turned to those protection traps to help combat against the many monster topdecks.

It's because nobody ever runs Dark World anymore.....Hand control has risen up again. I mean, why do you think people run Widespread AND Sakuretsu?

Next, comes the issue of S/T removal. Once again, Dust Tornado has been overshadowed. It sems now that not one but 2 Mobius have become the norm, and there is simply no need for the windy little trap. That's correct. Nobody runs it because it's too useless. I know from personal experience, which is why I'm ditching mine.

Now some of you may recall that in the last format, I wrote an article totally opposite from this one praising Dust Tornado. Things were different back then, however. Yes, back in the days of Goat Control, DT rocked our worlds.

Therefore, my article comes to a close. I would just like to say that Dust Tornado is seen in almost no decks in my metagame, and has been relegated to sidedecks. I would love to hear your thoughts on how popular Dust Tornado is in your metagame and if you agree with my prediction or not. Discuss.

It's because it's too unreliable. With Cyber Dragon running rampant, the control of the game shifts far, FAR too fast.

In short, DT has completely lost all its love.

Dust Tornado is still an irreplacable card. However, just not for M/T removal.

Dust Tornado's second effect allows you to set spell or trap on your opponent's turn, there by allowing you to activate it on your next turn.

Certain Traps you want to activate it on your turn like:

Return From a Different Dimension
Robbin Goblin
Ultimate Offerings
Book of Spell (requires that you activate it on your turn only)

Anyway, these are admittedly not the best examples but you get the idea. Dust Tornado cannot be replaced in a deck that you need that trap ready to go on your turn without it getting destroyed.

Finally! At last someone comes up with the rebuttle I needed one of you guys to post so that we can have an actual debate. Hopefully there will be advocates for both sides and NO FLAMING. Thanks, man.
