If memory serves corectly, they will be updating it this coming week. They seem to like doing things four weeks out.

Additional Comment:
We need some help guys.

We need you all to spread the word as best as possible and direct people to www.jdsevents.com where the information is posted for this event.

UDE is no longer able to link directly to our website from the schedule listing. So, if you all could help spread the information or our website address, that would help immensely.

And more importantly, it will keep our phones form ringing off the hook :)

Glad to see that everyone is already gearing up. Be sure to check www.jdsevents.com for details.

It's at the Dalals Convention Center this time. It's our first time at this venue, so I'm sure the room setups are going to be a little strange.

Additional Comment:
Event info has been updated for those that may have missed it.

Additional Comment:
We are getting a ton of e-mails and phone calls.

Looks like this one is going to be another big turnout.

Honestly, the open dueling is the EASILY the best deal. I really don't understand why everyone tries to show up and play with their own deck for $10. You have to go at least 3-1 before you make your money back really.

For the $20 Open Dueling, you get 6 packs!! That's less than regular retail price in most areas for the packs. And you get that no matter what for your $20.

But, you guys, do what you want to do. The Open Dueling just makes the most sense to me.

...Well see, most people think they can go 3-1, but then people like Outphase come along and make them X-2. Simple as that.

It doesn't matter if you THINK you can go 3-1. The deal still doesn't work out well in your favor. You only end up about 1.5 (to maybe 2) packs over retail cost even if you go 3-1 in constructed.

Also, if you get that one bad draw, or the opponent top decks against you, you can't afford another loss.

The other thing is that there are a LOT og chances to play constructed all year. For most people, they get to play constructed every weekend. So, as a player, I would play multiple flights of Open Dueling and take advantage of the situation.

Packs are normally $4. You get 5 for the open dueling. So 5 x $4 = $20, which is what you spent. Then you get one at the end. You get one free pack. Constructed is $10, you have a chance of getting 6 packs for $10. Which is around a $14 profit. Even if you go 3-1 you get 4 packs which is around a $6 profit. Which to do? =\ Kinda simple. Although I like the Sealed Pack ($25) tourney the most.

Ahh, so we just need to make the Constructed tournament $15-20 to enter, then it'll drop off.

Yeah, the prizes on the constructed event will likely be dropping in the near future.

Expect 5 packs for 4 wins and 3 packs for 3 wins.

Prizes for the sealed pack and Open Dueling will remain the same.

I wouldn't even mind a single elimination Constructed event...Every round you survive, you get a pack.

.CatFiSh_
02-15-2006, 05:27 AM
LoL... that'd be hot. That'd give a chance for a lot of packs.

PowrDragn

Honestly, we would do the single elim for packs thing. The idea is actually to DIScourage constructed play at Sneak Preview, not ENcourage them.

The Sneak Previews should be focused on sealed and draft play to show off the new set.

We have a LOT of events for constructed players on a regular basis. If they want to show off with their decks, they need to show up to a regional or win-a-box events or something and beat people who are actually good at constructed, not the average player that can barely build a deck that shows up to the Sneak PReview events :)

TacoKing

Dropping Constructed from the previews wouldn't bother me one bit. All it does is take up space from Sealed and Open play, and makes everybody stay longer since the rounds take so long.

By the way, people should also note that there are Regionals posted on www.jdsevents.com as well :)

We'll start some threads for those after the Sneak Preview.

I would be going to the Regional in March if it wasn't on the same day as Orlando =/

That's cool, we can't dodge EVERY date on the calendar :)

So, far, even with the weather predictions, this event should happen as scheduled. Since the open dueling is all day long, people should be able to get ther later in the day and still participate.

This is cool though. Based on the number of e-mails and phone cals, this could be our largest Sneak Preview event yet. We'll just cross our fingers and hope the weather isn't too bad in the morning.

Yeah this set is pretty meh but they have some great cards for both the competitive player and casual duelists. I wish yall coulda dodged a couple SJCs. I am missing the next 3 Texas regionals because of SJCs :(

I am definitely praying for good weather tomorrow morning. I will definitely be able to go, I just dont know what time I will be showing up. I will be wearing a leather jacket, so if you see me hollah back. This looks to be one of the best sneak previews yet.

I just looked outside, and it looks like the weather will be fine for today. I'm looking forward to a good turnout, and that I get to kick out some people selling cards. That would make my day.

Man. That was a heck of a day. Our numbers at the end of the day read as 673 entrants with 508 Unique players. We actually ran out of product.

Everyone seemed to have a great time. I expect our next one will have 600 unique players. It's cool to be part of something big like this :)

Yeah next set wont have as much GX coolness in it but it has quite a few playable cards. Overall the weekend was pretty cool cuz I made like $300
