Giant Kozaky

If there is no face-up "Kozaky" on the field, destroy this card. If this face-up card on the field is destroyed, inflict damage to the current controller's Life Points equal to the original ATK of this card. 2500 ATK/2400 DEF

I wonder... can you set this card and play a card like "Creature Swap", giving it to your opponent and then attack it, which turns it face-up, and it's effect is now in play... sending Giant Kozaky to the Graveyard and inflicting 2500 damage to your opponent.

Cause really, it's a good move...

You get a -1 for playing Creature Swap,
You keep the -1 after you switch monsters,
You attack Giant Kozaky and it's flipped up... destroying itself,
So you go back to a 0, but your opponent just lost 2500 LP.

If you call this a bad combo, fine. But I like it, and it has some originality... but please, confirm... will it be destroyed right after I set it?

The Rulebook says that effects aren't active if the monster is set. Giant Kozaky has a continuous effect, and if I set it face-down and switch it to my opponent's field, attack it (which flips it up, and even though it's not a Flip effect, the continuous effect automatically activates), it gets destroyed and my opponent loses 2500 LP. Can anyone just confirm that this is legit?

It's a decent burn combo, but it's alot better if you replace Giant Kozaky with Ameba.

The combo's legit. Like almost all monsters, Giant Kozaky's effect doesn't apply while it's facedown. I've actually built a deck around Giant Kozaky, Ameba, Creature Swap, and Mystic Box. It works surprisingly well.

Alright, thanks... mightymage, any reason why Ameba>Giant Kozaky?

I can answer that one. Ameba doesn't require the use of another card to do its burn, plus it has very low stats, so you can run it over for even more damage. With Giant Kozaky, you're only going to do more than 2500 if you flip it up by a card effect (Book of Taiyou, Swords of Revealing Light, or Ceasefire).

Hmm... here's my solution... I'll run both =P

Just run the good ol' Giant Kozaky+Shien's Spy to give your opponent a present (bonus points if it's a holiday/birthday)

Hasn't anybody ever heard of Shien's Spy? It works much better than this, and it doesn't come with the side effect that you're opponent will give you something stupid like Trent or Monster Egg.

And your opponent would be running Trent or Monster Egg... why? Also, Shien's Spy only works on face-up monsters, so you can't use it with Giant Kozaky. In addition, it does nothing other than give your opponent control of one of your monsters. Sure, you'll do the burn -- but then what? Creature Swap and Mystic Box are good because they don't care about the position of the monsters and they also remove one of your opponent's monsters (by giving it to you in Swap's case, or destroying it in Mystic Box's).

You're playing against people who actually use Trent and Monster Egg?

Yes! Thank-you... I was waiting to see if someone would figure that out...

And thanks to nobodys99 for rating the combo =)

You can Play Giant Kozaky face-up then chain it if it's your turn.
