Alright now I'm pretty sure I have this effect right (and I'd appreciate it if no one called me dumb or sware at me for some mistake I make in this please because I've played this game for 3+ years and know what I'm talking about)
Now we all know Penguin Knight's effect was seldom used (if at all). It allowed you to shuffle your graveyard back into your deck when he is sent from your deck to the graveyard. Now why would this be useful now? Because a good amount of people use the card Exchange of the spirit. That card switches the deck with the graveyard, thus sending cards from the deck directly to the graveyard. If penguin knight is in the deck when exchange of the spirit is activated, it would shuffle the graveyard back into the deck, rebuilding the deck right?
As long as you don't have some degrading or disrespectful response, I'm curious to see what you think

It's a bit situational, but I see where you're coming from... it's actually a very cool idea. I might side it as opposed to main decking the card... but it all depends on the meta.
I may be incorrect, but I believe Penguin Knight's effect is only applied as a result of battle... i'll check on that. If this is the case... then hopefully it's in your hand when EotS is activated.

"when this card is sent from your deck to your graveyard by your opponents card effect, unite your graveyard and your deck. The deck is then shuffled"
side it in against exchange along time ago ^ ^

Ah, yes... there we go, lol.
Heh, I can remember playing this card back in the beginning... kinda cool to see this card, along with MANY older cards, becomming playable again.

I know what you mean. I mostly used this with painful choice. It worked fairly well too, until the opponent caught on to the effect and gave me the P. Knight. What can I say, I was a bit of a n00b at the time, lol.

^but wouldn't you just search outt 2 penguins with painful? It might have an issue that not many will have the side deck space to have penguin when its needed.

Unfortunatly, that dosen't work.
That situation occured at a regional event in my area.
Penguin Knights text reads "when it is sent"
EotS text reads "switch"
Switch and Sent.
Rather than get into a linguistics debate,
lets just agree its semantics.
It just depends on whether you think...
1) By "switching" you are thereby sending the entire deck to the graveyard.
or
2) That you are not "sending" anything to the graveyard,
merely place "switching"
In my opinion there is a stronger case for 1) but ::shrug:: I've only seen the two cards ruled as 2).
Of course, Judges have made wrong rulings before... but to my knowledge that is the ruling on those two cards.

Very interesting. You raise a valid point. Sending a card is specifically choosing one card or a group of cards through as per the effect of a card that states "send this card(s) to the graveyard".
Switching implies just what you've said... switching the deck and graveyard.... it can't really be simplified any more than that.
I don't know, but I believe i've changed my mind to that end. Good work esoteric...

lol, my bad. I have shall we say, a large vocabulary. Of course... I do talk or rather type normally as well... I guess it just depends on my mood.
I also checked the site... and found nothing as well... I'm rather curious about the official ruling...

lol... that too. It is... shall we say, rather confusing at times. If there is one problem with Yu-Gi-Oh... it is the vagueness in the card text.

It's too bad you can't play it in an Avarice Build... with Magical Merchant to 'send' it.

it's a good idea but still, unless decks like that are rampant in your meta, dont run it.
