This card is way too overrated. It is in almost every single deck! This card gets annoying after a while but nothing Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer can't handle! This card is not that great, what do you guys think about this card? Should it just be tossed in to any deck?

This card is good, if you know how to run it, it doesn't fit in cookie cutter, and you already seem to have formed a cast iron opinion on it. Why bother to ask about a card AFTER making it clear you dislike it?

I was just wondering what everyone else thought about her(it's a female right?)

If it's in a deck around here it normally is either its own deck or soul control.
Many people say it's good, but don't really seem to play it that much.
Maybe that will change, when the spellcaster structure will make the apprentice magician engine more playable and thus the phoenix.

Um, I don't think SPoN is in every deck. But yes, it can be good (think beast deck (Enraged Battle Ox) or Phoenix/Zombie hybrid) In this meta though it's not too good with all those DDAs running around.

I love her because she's a phoenix. I don't play the game (anymore) but I still purchased a promo one from Wal-Mart.

Basically Phoenix is a Heavy Storm (When Special Summoned by its own effect) with a touch of Vampire Lords recursion. So why would anyone run this monster with the low attack of 2400 (Low for Two Tribute Monster status)? Well one of the keys to Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys success is in the monster card Hand of Nephthys.

So all you have to do is Summon Hand of Nephthys and tribute that extra Sheep Token you have left over from that Scapegoats Spell Card. Or maybe you could Brain Control or Soul Exchange or Snatch Steal one of your opponents monsters and use them as the Tribute Cost for Hand of Nephthys, either way Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys finds her way to the field.

You can activate the Counter Trap card Divine Wrath when Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys is Special Summoned by its own effect. Because this effect activates in the Graveyard, and is being negated while Sacred Phoenix of Nepthys is in the Graveyard, Sacred Phoenix of Nepthys is never Special Summoned (so the card is never moved from the Graveyard) and is never destroyed. Because it is not destroyed, its effect to Special Summon itself does not activate again. Which is a little different then the ruling on Horn of Heave which states, If Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys is Summoned, and the Summon is negated by Horn of Heaven, it is Special Summoned during your next Standby Phase because it was destroyed by a card effect.

The import thing to remember is it never has to be Summoned to the field to get it's effect.

On a side note if Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys is destroyed while it is not a Monster Card, such as when it is equipped to Relinquished or Sword Hunter, its effect does not activate and it is not Special Summoned.

All in all Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys is one of the best cards in the game, hands down. Anyone that states otherwise is a fool. Although she does not see too much play in the current Metagame because of the increase of use with cards like Bottomless Trap Hole and D.D. Assailant's she should still be considered a force to reckoned with.

While you were spot on with everything you said in play, your reasons on Divine Wrath are flawed.

When Divine Wrath negates an effect, the card is then treated as being effectless while in the graveyard, same way Marie the Fallen One or Sinister Serpent acts if killed by a Fiend type monster with Dark Ruler Ha Des on the field. So even though Divine Wrath 'destroys' Sacred Phoenix (which indeed it does, even if she's in the graveyard), Divine Wrath stuns her effect.

Just, if you run Phoenix, run Statue of the Wicked, it's good tech. ^_^

Incorrect.

Cards cannot be destroyed while in the graveyard.

the phoenix is one of the most powerful single monster based decks you can have

it was splashed into a world championship deck

and its soul lives on in my deck box:p

phoenix is a great card, and prolly one of the easiest monsters to get out.. its only drawback is the bottomless trap holes..

This card is way too overrated. It is in almost every single deck!

Maybe in your secluded area it is, but not nationally.

If anything, Phoenix is underrated and underplayed. She's not being played because the environment is anti-Phoenix right now (DDA, DDWL, Bottomless) and many players write her off as a n00b card.

Also, Phoenix doesn't belong in every single deck. She requires several support cards to be truly effective, and many decks can't fit her in.

Don't get me wrong, though; I love Phoenix. She's my main monster, and I couldn't be happier with my deck right now.

Bottom line: Phoenix is perfect because she's balanced. She's neither too powerful nor too weak.
