i currently have a good warrior deck running and i was wanderin if phoenix could work in it, also give me your oppinion on if its good or not and if it depends wat deck its in, tell me, wat deck it is good in wat its and bad in.

Phoenix work's great in a Zombie deck. As you can look for yourself at all the great Zombie/Phoenix hybird's being posted in the Advanced forum.

Phoenix would be great if it wasn't for one problem, Everytime you duel in a tournament it ends up in your opening hand without hand, makes it very hard in this format to actually win.

Phoenix as a dead draw is one of the main reasons it isn't used, that and it being slaughtered by DD monsters. Other than that it is fast thanks to Hand of nephthys and apprentice magician ,can be splashed fairly easily and it's effect is awesome.

Even with the DD monsters going around its not too hard to protect it, its just its unreliability as a draw.

pheonix doesn't mess well with zombies at all, your looking at 5-6 cards JUST for the bird.
really just because vampire lord has a simalar effect doesn't mean you run them with her.
unless you can show me some reaosn it works better with zombies than spellcasters, i call bull**** on this.

Heck yea dood, at my tourney today, I drew Sacred Phoenix every single duel. It was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. 1/40.

What are the chances of that.

I never have a problem drawing Sacred Phoenix, but it's always a problem drawing heavy storm....

It works well just make sure you can keep tabs on the DD monsters floating around and the spotty Bottomless Trap Holes. It doesn't fit too well in a majority of my decks since I don't want to break their themes up.

She can fit into a lot of decks just its a pain if you draw Phoenix.

drawing it immediately gets you an immediate -1 (an unusable tribute monster, and you could have drawn something else; got hand to fetch it from your deck). And with all the D.D. ______s around, it just isn't worth it...

Edit: Oh, and the best deck for Phoenix is either a FET-only sealed deck, or your 50,000th deck of [39 commons that are too worn to be traded in for EMoD's points and Phoenix, the 40th card].

Hmmmm, OK. There's a lot of special summoning going on with a Zombie deck. There's plenty of tribute fodder for Phoenix in a Zombie deck...right?
She fit's in quite well with the Zombie's. What make's her better in a Spellcaster deck?
This is can't be a debate, because she work's good in both.
I never said she only worked in a Zombie deck.

Well while monster lineups vary on Phoenix decks, here are some nice Magics and Traps to run with it (paren responces are based on decktype):

Black Pendant
Fuhma Shuriken (using Ninja support)
Ojamagic (Using Beast/Discard support)
Mind Control (If you use Assault on GHQ and/or Destruction Ring)
Gryphon Feather Duster (if you use the destroyed for effect cards)

Blast with Chain
Dark Coffin
Statue of the Wicked
Ninjitsu Art of Transformation (Ninjas)
Destruction Ring
Assault on GHQ

Ninja support -
Ninjas sadly lack the levels to search Phoenix out on their own, but that doesn't mean they're useless, Between Fuhma Shuriken to add in pain, and using Ninjitsu can let you grab out Roc (Free beatstick) or Sacred Crane (Free draw).

Beast support
Ojamas make nice discards... that's really it for that idea.

Well I run her in a fire beatdown, so I don't really care if I get her in a draw seeing as how Flame Ruler covers that up micely.

Also another way to quickly get her out is the Hand and any of the Element RFG monsters.

I stuck it in my fun/casual beatdown, its sure fun to play, and its effect can really piss off your opponent if used a few times. Don't worry about DDA's. That's what standard monster removal is for. Do watch out for bottomless trap hole though >.<

that cards text says tribute, so Phoenix never comes back, because she wasn't destroyed but tributed.

in a warrior deck you dont need phoenix, unless of course you r running one of those janky warrior decks w/ 2-3 marauding captain. In that case you could summon mc sp summon hand of nepthys then sac em for phoenix. Phoenix just isnt really outstanding in this format. It can be ok in spellcasters where 2-3 apprentice magician are run.
