To say one is better than the other I think might be foolish. They both have their strengths and weaknesses.
GW is free. Has alot of customization.
WoW is BIG. Alot of people play it. I personaly like the graphics a little more.
I say if you can fork over the $15 a month get WoW. If not, get GW. If you want, get both if you can't decide.

i already Got WoW On Christmas Eve
its just iam wondering If GW Would Be Better And Such since it has no monthly fee's
GW is stale. I had it before WoW, and I like WoW better. GW has a max level cap of 20 and there's not much to do outside of PvP once you hit Level 20. WoW has the max level cap of 60 and there's all sorts of challenging dungeons to raid, along with the PvP. Also, IMO, WoW's PvP is better than GW and GW is centered around PvP.
I could go on, but WoW is just better than GW IMO.

If you have the money and the will, I would suggest you get WoW. If you cannot or do not want to pay, GW is for you. GW is quite really the best free MMORPG out there at the moment.

From someone who has clocked over 1200+ hours of gameplay in Guild Wars...
IT IS BORRING!
My first character through the game took 2 and 1/2 weeks...
My second character took ... FOUR DAYS (About 30 Hours)...
It is rediculous in the fact that it is so easy...
It takes NO GRIND (Which really takes away from the game)...
You can get max stat armor and weapons with about 15 000 gold... That literally takes no time at all to get...
It was good for about the first 500 hours ... now I am just waiting until Chapter 2 is released... that will be fun I think...
They are adding new classes (no one knows how many)... So it should be interesting...
One problem though...
There is 4 character slots on your account... and already 6 professions... they add more, and it will be difficult to play what you want...

Uh... in GW... have you even tried doing Fissure of Woe? Underworld? Unless you're using one of those obscene 55 monk builds, those are NOT easy areas. And the 55 monk builds are a mistake, as ArenaNet (the company) has said.
And how is WoW's PvP better than GW's? It's actually based on strategy, not gear. Which means you can't spend a ton of money on stuff and expect to win, you actually have to know what you're doing. To me, that makes GW's PvP quite nice.
It takes NO GRIND (Which really takes away from the game)...
Uh... They were aiming for no grinding. Because grinding is boring. But hey, if it's really that important to you... go get yourself some of that Fissure of Woe armor. It looks AWESOME, and I guarantee it'll take you a while to pay for it. :D
But what I find especially interesting is that you never even mentioned PvP. Which is really what we care about in GW. And don't take Competition Arena seriously... the real action is in Tombs of the Primeval Kings and GvG.
Then again... if you're going to spend 1200+ hours on PvE... yeah. Play WoW. You'll be getting your money's worth.
But for anyone who has a job and challenging classes to worry about, $15 a month is a little steep for the amount of time spent playing. Take GW, then.
<- Has spent ~450 hours on GW, and that's since the game came out.

An extension pack for GW is coming on the second quarter of 2006. I have a question, how is GW free? I downloaded the game from http://www.mofunzone.com/download_games/guild_wars.shtml
and when I run the game, it tells me if I want to put some code or purchase an account online. Does this code comes when you purchase the game at a store?

it is free in the sense that you pay once for the game and that is it. nearly ALL MMOs will cost you around 10-15 dollars monthly to play, but they also tend to be better than GW

Awesome? For some professions yes... All? Hardly...
Necromancer Male and Female (Both FOW Armor sucks)
Mesmer Female (Looks allright) and I can't really remember Mesmer Male.
Warrior Male (Looks allright, but wayyy too many people have it) and the Female Warrior (Decent, but still not great)
Elementalist Male (Decent) and Elementalist Female (Pretty good)
Ranger Female (I don't like it at all) and Ranger Male (Nothing Special)
I had a chance to get FOW armor, but I figured .. why bother?
Instead I bought like 6 sets of 15k armor and a whole lot of gold weapons, there is really no point whatsoever to the FOW armor...
If you are looking for a game where Play Time counts for somethingm GW is not it.... I Realisticly, you could complete the entire game through and get max stat armor and weapons for under 30k gold, which in my opinion, is way too little money to have the same armor/weapon stats as peoplle who have put time into the game...
There honestly SHOULD be a division between the upper and middle class, that makes there be a point for experiance or money.... or else nothing is going to keep the hardcore gamers around...

Ironically, WoW has been criticised for lack of high-level content...
Basically, if you're willing to spend $100 bucks for a few months with WoW, it beats out spending $50 to buy a copy of Guild Wars.
If you don't have an extra hundred bucks, you can still play Wow, but only for a couple months.

...You're joking, right?
The Necro FoW armor is probably the most detailed in the game. The obsidian spikes jutting from the necro's flesh also add a demonic look that just oozes power. If someone is wearing that, you know they're special.
The warrior stuff I'll agree is overdone... but I won't agree that it looks decent. It doesn't look at all special, just plates overlapping each other with the occaisional hint of the obsidian that went into it.
The elementalist FoW armors look good mainly on the fact that they are very different from the other ele armor. It's a good idea behind the armor's style, but it looks a little thrown-together. More detail on it would make it look awesome.
The female mesmer armor is, quite frankly, a waste of money. It hardly looks different from some of the other stuff. I'm waiting for an update on the art for that. The male mesmer stuff, while subtle in differences, is lush in detail (when not dyed black). Think standard stylish attire, then mix in a bit of leather badass-biker to it.
As for the rangers... can't quite remember those. No comment, as a result.
Still, it's apparent that ANet went all out in designing the necro FoW armor. It's unique, it's memorable, and it captures the attitude of the necromancer very nicely without overblowing cliches.
Back to the whole GW vs. WoW debate... if you've got the money to shell out and the time to make it worthwhile, sure, play WoW. But if you don't want an MMORPG that will consume what remains of your social life, GW is the better way to go.
P.S. The new classes in chapter 2 are looking awesome! For those in the dark, Assassins are like weaker versions of warriors on defense with the capability to string together combos for more damage. They've also got nifty stealth arts and such. Ritualists, on the other hand, are a sort of summoner class, but can use the spirits they summon for many purposes... damage, buffs, debuffs, healing... very unique.
