Now, unlike the other threads I've browsed through, I'm not going to waste your time with my senseless *****ing about the cards that everyone thinks should be banned. Instead, I'm going to waste your time by providing reasoning as to why certain cards should be restricted or not restricted.

D. D. Assailant: As an Earth/Warrior monster, that already gives him a seemingly endless amount of support with the biggest being Reinforcement of the Army. Have a problem on the board? Throw down RotA, get the Assailaint and problem solved. Most decks I've seen will generally run him threes. A card being run in threes in just about every deck is a clear sign that it's being abused, and abused cards are generally restricted or banned. Now, with stats at 4/1700/1600, there's not too much that will actually be able to take down this monster unless you're running aggro. Granted I base this assumption mainly on the fact that decks I see, their strongest nonsacrificial monster is Breaker the Magical Warrior and that's on par with D. D. Assailant's defense strength provided that Breaker hasn't destroyed a Magic or Trap yet. At the very least, I would say that D. D. Assailant should be restricted to one. It has an enormous amount of support and can be used as a normal attacker if you feel the need to. Though most early-on monsters won't be able to take down the Assailant, you can still have him ram into your opponent's problem monster and everything's fine.

Cyber Dragon: A Light/Machine isn't that big anymore. Actually, it never was honestly. Oh, yeah, so Limiter Removal made him huge, so what? The fact that he's a 5/2100/1600 is much larger than his main- and sub-types. He can be Metamorphosized into a Dark Balter the Terrible, a monster that has basically the same stats as Cyber Dragon but also causes problems for your opponent because he now risks playing Magic cards. The biggest problem is Cyber Dragon's ability. Being able to Special Summon it as early as your first turn is just horrendous. From the get-go, your opponent is now up against a wall and wishing that he had a Bottomless Trap Hole or Sakuretsu Armor set. Hell, even Compulsory Evacuation Decive would help for when that Dragon attacks. The bottom line is that Cyber Dragon is just too easy to get into play and he's so huge a monster for his ability that Konami probably smacked themselves when they saw everyone and their dead aunt trying to get a hold of three of them. Sure, they were thrilled that sales for Cybernetic Revolution boosters skyrocketed, but now they have to deal with the fact that they've got tournament halls filled with everyone screaming "Do you have any Cyber Dragon to trade!?" With the release of Prototype Cyber Dragon, I can see Konami coming down on the Cyber Dragon users and saying that they can only use one of them.

Pot of Greed: The last main draw engine: Gone. Yes, I understand that people were getting pissed off that their opponent is on the ropes and top decking, and then top decks into Pot of Greed which gets them going on a complete turn-around. Well, guess what? That's part of the game. Do you think that people have a lot of fun getting their faces smashed in by three Cyber Dragons and a D. D. Assailant, only to wish that they could get a couple cards in their hand to try and turn the game around? Once you've got your opponent so far against the ropes that they're beginning to engrave themselves into his skin, you would assume that game might as well be over because your opponent's just not going to be able to recover. I remember having zero cards in hand and staring down an army. The only thing I could think about was that if I could at least have some chance at drawing a good answer, I might be able to win. Pot of Greed was that one faint glimmer of hope in an otherwise bleak world.

Honestly, that's about it. Unlike the rest of you who have problems with everything, I tend focus on the more major problems that exist within the game. Yes, monster removal runs rampant with Sakuretsu Armor and Smashing Ground. Yes, Dark World with their almost perfect swarming ability is going to be a huge problem some think. Big. ****ing. Deal. D. D. Assailants being ran in threes alongside Cyber Dragon in every single deck is a lot more hurtful to the game and Upperdeck's promise of originality between October and April than Dark World kicking your face in or having some weenie monster run into a Sakuretsu Armor.

I hear you, Sakurestsu armor is the most annoying card in the game since it's now being ran in three's, and I really do miss pot of greed. :)

yah, gotta love that Sakuretsu Armor (sometimes), for (you got to admit) that it is fun to use. ^_^
