I have a team of questions about XD/Colosseum. They are as follows:
1.) What's the Orre Professor's name?
2.) What's the name of the starting town?
3.) What're the evil intentions of Team Cipher and Team Snagem?
I don't have a GCN, or else XD/Colo would've been on my Christmas wish list. But, in case I *somehow* obtain a GCN (this is highly unlikely, btw), I'd like to know some background info on the plots of these games.
Thanks in advance!
*SPOILER WARNING!*

The Professor's name is Krane.
We start in a place called the Pokemon HQ lab. I don't think it has any other name.
In Colosseum, Cipher created Shadow pokemon by closing their hearts, and the org was destroyed and the Shadow pokemon purified. In XD, Shadow pokemon begin to appear again. and nobody knows why at first.
So the mission in XD is to stop the production of more Shadows and rescue (steal using Prof Kranes Snag machine and purify) those that have been made into Shadow pokemon.
Team Snagem steals your Snag machine making things difficult for a bit, but you get it back later after defeating Gonzap, their leader.
There is one pokemon that is said cannot be purified (Lugia) but naturally it can under the right circumstances. THeir evil intention is to create shadows that cannot be purified.
After beating the Cipher Leader (Grand Master Greevil) there are a number of side quests. If you accomplish them all, you are rewarded with a Lucky Egg.
Hope that helps you, Good Helper Interfed_Ov.

Yes, that helps. But that also opens up a few more questions:
1.) In Colosseum, what's the starting town?
2.) What's the purpose of the Shadow Pokémon? Are they innocent victims that need to be rescued, or are they willing participants in the evil schemes of Team Cipher?
3.) What does Team Snagem do, and how are they related to Team Cipher?
4.) Is Prof. Krane a man or a woman? (Kinda sounds like a gangly old man, but idk.) Orre must follow different patterns from all the other games, because a crane is a bird, not a tree. (i.e. Oak, Birch, Elm)
5.) Can you go into a lot more detail? Spoilers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the answers, and also in advance for future answers.

1. There is no starting town in the pokemon GCN games, in XD, you start in the lab(like SA said) and can go no where else until later. In the colloseum game(the first GCN pokemon game), you start at the outskirt stand in the desert. In neither game do you start in a town specifically like you do in the GBA games.
2. The shadow pokemon in XD were taken from a cargo ship called the S.S. Libra. They're innocent pokemon that Cipher manipulated for their own selfish causes.
3. In colloseum, Team Snagum captured the pokemon for Cipher with their snag machine. In XD though, Cipher has abandoned them, and now they want revenge on Cipher.
4. Krane is a man, and yes, the name is confusing.
5. Sorry, you'll have to find this one out for yourself. Though I wouldn't try and find out to much, because the storyline is great, and you don't want it spoiled. The given is of course that you have to beat Cipher once and for all, just like all the other criminal organizations in the Pokemon games, but how you do it is very different, and very, very fun.

5. I will fill you in on some spoilers
Shadow Lugia is XD001 "codename" and its supposed to be the ultimate Pokemon. They are planning to use it to turn all the Pokemon into shadow Pokemon.
The boss is Master Greevil and you meet him at the beginning of the game when one of his henchmen protect you / your sister from a bully.
Sorry for any people that didn't want to read spoilers.

The XD001 thing is common knowledge, but you have a few things wrong about him: He's the ultimate Shadow Pokémon, and he's supposed to be the prototype for future unpurifiable Shadow Pokémon, which is their plan--to make unpurifiable Shadow Pokémon.
The game has probably been out for long enough that you don't need to mark spoilers anymore. But, in case it hasn't, I should spoiler-mark my original post.
