I enjoy reading the Pojo forums, but being new to them I don't know what some of the terms mean. Such as a cookie cutter or aggro deck, and other terms like nomi and toolbox.
Could someone tell me what some of these terms mean, or tell of a place where I can find a list of these terms. Thanks.

Lol. im a newbie too so dont worry. well aggro is a type of deck that is basically aggresive like beatdown i think. a cookie cutter is a deck that people copy card by card but its almost always good. i think nomi are normal monsters that cant be summoned unless you use a certain magic card and use it on a monster for example, gearfried the swordsmaster is a nomi because you can only summon it by using release restraint on gearfried the iron knight. dark magician knight is a nomi because you can only summon it by using knight's title on dark magician. finally, i dont know what a toolbox is so you might wanna ask the veterans. i think theres a thread that tells you what these things mean so look for it.

Aww... this is sooo darned cute. I know I'm a noob to the forums, but I've been playing forever so here ya go...

Cookie Cutter is a currently popular deck (usually one that recently won SJC) that a big majority of players use with pretty much the same deck list.

Aggro is beatdown like the other dude said. Just a deck more concerned with attacking for damage than with control effects or burning.

Nomi is a monster that can ONLY be summoned by a certain effect. This is different from cards like BLS Envoy of the Beginning because while that card needs a certain effect to special summoned initially, once it's been properly summoned you can use stuff like Premature Burial to summon it again. This isn't true with Gerafried the Swordmaster or Horus LV8 for example.

Toolbox is generally referring to warrior toolbox, but can be a variety of types. It's basically referring to a deck that has quick and easy access to a mjority of the cards in it. For example, warrior toolbox has Reinforcement of the ARmy to get just about any monster, zombie toolbox has Pyramid Turtle to do the same. Basically it's a deck that has cards for just about any situation and can get to them as needed.

Cookie cutter: A deck just like everyone else's. When someone wins a major tournament (such as a Shonen Jump event) with a certain kind of deck, hordes of people are quick to copy it ("netdeck" it), and it becomes a new "cookie cutter deck". The current CC deck is one that runs multiple copies of Bazoo and Return from the Different Dimension, because the winner of the last Shonen Jump event used them.

Aggro: Aggressive. A deck that is designed to attack at every opportunity. You should read this article by Death Jester (http://www.pojo.com/yu-gi-oh/FeaturedWriters/deathjester/2005/11-18.shtml).

Nomi: A monster that cannot be normal summoned and cannot be special summoned from the graveyard. Horus LV8, for example.

Toolbox: A warrior deck that has a variety of different warrior monsters to deal with different situations, and uses Reinforcement of the Army to pull them from the deck as needed. I think the deck concept originated in Japan, but it was popularized in the U.S. by Jae Kim's article on pojo (http://www.pojo.com/yu-gi-oh/FeaturedWriters/JAE/2005/5-19.shtml).

Aggro: Aggressive. Think beatdown but with control.

Toolbox: A deck that is able to access certain cards easily. for example, a Zombie deck with pyramid turtles and giant rats. Then warrior decks have reinforcements of the army.

Nomi: A monster that can't be normal or special summoned. It can only be played by meeting certain expectations or using certain cards. For example, Gearfried the sword master is a nomi because he can only be played by using release restraint on gearfried the iron knight.

Cookie Cutter: It means massively produced with little or no differences. In yugioh people use this term for a deck in the meta that everyone or almost everyone uses and are all pretty much the same.

Hope that helps some.
