ok, here are the final standing for the tournament. We started with 18 and finished with 17. Not bad at all. Only a single drop for the second week in a row. We all know where the tournament superstars were (Ryan, James, Jake the Snake) so some new players managed to jump into top 8 and make a name for themselves, and a huge upset was coming down that pipe that many of us didn't see coming.

1 Maness, Dale 4 wins (Return Staul Exchange)
2 Jessen, Russell 4 wins (The New Cookie)
3 Corona, Claudio 3 wins (The New Cookie)
4 Powell, Morgan 3 wins (Unknown)
5 Polanco, Jorge 3 wins (Beatstick Powerup)
6 Perry, Sara 2 wins (Water)
7 Lieu, Duong 2 wins (Needle Judgment)
8 Perry, Lacy 2 wins (Warrior Rampage)
9 Maness, Ken 2 wins (Return)
10 Quinlan, Jonathan 2 wins (Unknown)
10 Chambers, Quincy 2 wins (Unknown)
12 Garcia, Humberto 2 wins (80 cards, guess)
13 Barnett, Terry 1 wins (85 cards, guess)
14 Rowsen, Walker 1 wins (Pandemonium Archfiend)
15 Taylor, Zechariah 1 wins (Wannabe E-Hero)
16 Garcia, Andrew 1 wins (Beatdown)
17 Sauls, Damien 0 wins (Beatdown)

That's right! The two females duelists who play at out grand tourney managed to hit top 8 with a very respectable 6 and 8 ranking, but that wasn't the biggest surprise by far. The Main attraction turned out to be the first qiarter final match between #1 Ranked Dale Maness and #8 Lacy Perry.

Dale, as he did last week was rocking the field. This newer deck was filled with return monsters like Guardian Sphinx and had a nice little surprise as well in Exchange of the Spirit which he was able to pull off on Lacy, but luck was with Lacy this day. Dale played well, but Lacy's deck, filled with warriors and the proper support was able to answer Dale's deck time and time again.

In the first game, Dale made a pretty big error by trying to snatch steal Lacy's Mataza the Zapper. Zapper stayed equipped with Steal long enough for Lacy to build of quite a large LP lead. Dale, with his staul elements intact, tried to wait out the warriors, but became overwhelmed and dropped the first game.

In the second game, Lacy continued her efforts making the right decisions at the right times and was able to rip the match away from Dale. This was by far the biggest upset in the tournament with the 8th seed taking out the 1st seed 2-0.

I have a feeling Dale will be back with a vengence next week with an even more inproved deck and a focus to rival Ryan Cerda who we expect to return. As he did last week, Dale was undefeated in swiss play while Lacy was able to jump into the 8th spot with a couple of good tie-breakers. Lacy taking 4th place in the tourny was all her own doing though.

Russel Jessen otherwise known as "The Boss" or the "Phillipino Meano" took 1st going 4-0 in swiss and 3-0 in the finals to have a perfect day. He was able to take out some very difficult compitition in Duong (Ranked 7th), Claudio (Ranked 3rd), and Jorge (Ranked 5th). His toughest by far was Claudio. It took him three games to finish him off, the match coming to an end in sudden death.

And now what you've all been waiting for, the Brad Poth moment of the day otherwise known as the...

"Nice Rip!!"

2nd Round, Table 1

Sara Perry VS Zach Taylor

Sara was flooding the field and had complete control when Zach topdeck a Dark Hole to clear things up. Sara was still able to pull out the game and the match. Zach, from all of us on the tournament staff, we'd all like to say "Nice Rip!!"...and we're not talking about a fart.

Thanks to all who attended and we'll see you next week!

Why exactly do you post this? Its not like anyone knows/cares who these people are...........

because people do know and care who these people are. Just because you may not know them means nothing...and it would be pretty sad if you don't know that Brad and Ryan are on your team and you don't seem to care. Unless you have something positive to say, then don't bother posting on this thread.

Yeah actually Ryan isnt on our team anymore....

But aside from that, it really isnt that big a deal to post who wins a silly local tournament. I mean, i could see if this was a regional but its not...
