o ok cool i wouldnt be able to come out there every week as i live in webster but i got to all the previews. I could try to get out there mayber 1-2 a month for a tounry if i could get on the team i'm like 2nd best in webster and i went 5-3 in missasauga regionals last spring (i woulda done better if i used ALO instead of CCWC)... but i know better now and i wont run a cookie cutter deck i'm going w/ a deck that isnt in the major spotlight of being the best but ppl will know is competetive Zombie tool box / pheonix... i had contemplated a CC deck and it wasnt up to par w/o the 2nd CD and 2 more DDAs i mean i even contemplated running toons but i wanna try somthing that wont go 5-3 or worse but the toons would be cool..

I’m the Jake Cook being talked about. BladeX975 I go to Schroeder. I’m an 11th grader there. You go to Thomas? Anyways I go to millennium every Sunday for the most part because it’s a real good place to play at plus alot of the people there are real cool. Right now I am ranked 49th in New York (when our tournament runner updates it I will be higher because I won 2 tournaments since then) Currently I am running a Dark World deck that has won me my last 3 tournaments I went to. I don’t know if I am going to run it at the regional or not. Out of my team I am the one guy who refuses to run cookie cutter so I am always coming up with original ideas to throw people off. Well best of luck to all you people going there but Team Impact is going to take home the top 4 spots.

o cool.. i'm in 11th @ thomas.. i like mkillenium but its a pain to go out there. maybe we could hang out sum time i'd like to test my skills against ppl other thand my friends joe and jeff and my rival rogan... good to hear that ur anti CC i mean i run it sumtimes jsut to see what the hype is and cvuz it works but generally i run sumthing that isnt in the major spotlight that is viable, effective and a touch of originality.. and after my exp @ missasauga i'll never runn CC in a major tourny unless i can copy a regional / SJC deck card by card cuz tryin to make CC w/ originality and some jank replacements wont cut it.. but mainly i like a good aggro/control w/ some originality yet that wins alot...
i heard for a while that most a the competition had been jank decks and n00bz w/ CC and after goin to sumof the sneak previews i had seen first hand and agreed but after hearing the info here it sounds much better than the experiences i've had there.. btw are their regular tournies there still 1 loss elimination ?

Well, if my friend can get us a ride, we'll have 3 members of Sie7en attending this one. I'm not going to trash-talk anybody, so no need to worry about that. Just know that I've had my fair share of duels against some well-known people (St. Clair, Tundo, Smith, Luc, ect) and teams (Evolution, Krispy Kreme, Comic Odyssey, Sie7en, ect). If Sie7en is able to attend this event, be assured that we will do exceptionally well. I wish the best of luck and skill to everyone.

Okay... but what of the others that I've played? Even so, you played Tundo in the Top 4, it's not like it was an opening round. Have you guys ever seen Butlers' meta? We've had Brent Yetter, Brian Long, among others come to this thing and get their butts kicked. I usually fair pretty well, so I hope that I can make it to this regional to show everyone that i'm serious.

He ran Exodia a long time ago, not sure if he still has it locked away somehwere. But he tends to have a new deck around for usage. He had it at the CRV Previews. I was there too, the black/hispanic kid hanging around/following him most of the time.

Nice insult.
Definaitions for "garb" on google.
Clothing in general; usually describes clothing in pre-17th century styles for wearing to SCA events.
A tied bundle of grain. Unless otherwise specified, the grain will be wheat.
So you called him grain or clothing. Nice job.
But then again you might not have ment that at all. Because I do not know what yur (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=define%3Ayur&btnG=Search) is.
And how many of you have went to a shonen jump and placed?
Yeah thats what I thought.
You people need to understand that not all of the good players in the world have the resources to go to regionals and shonen jumps. Some parents won't take their kids XXX miles to play a GAME...
Some people may come this year who didn't have the resources last year and kick all your asses. But I think that its great that you guys are using regional wins from 1 and 2 years ago in totally different formats to show your points.
All in all, stop saying that your team is so great over the internet, it just makes you look like a noob.

See heres the difference between me and most of the other people on this thread, I don't go around saying that I am a better duelist then _______ and that my team is better. I feel the need to prove to you that I am better then you, I just want to have a good time with the game.
I have no doubt that you get unlucky, but so do alot of the good players that I talk to. But most of them don't complain about getting unlucky and just try and do better at the next event that they go to.

Well as far as I can remember alot of the people on my team are competitive, it's not that we take the game too seriously it's just our competitivity (new word) takes over and we feel the need to be better and express our superiority.

congrats? wait no, i realized last format was about as luck based as it gets, i dub this not that big of an accomplishment.
Also this format is not as luck based as i know you are about to say, because of a name. Paul Levitan. If you T8 an SJC 4 straight in a format, it cant be THAT luck based. Last format was semi-skillful but with like 20 cards that can change the tide of a game, i dont see it as that skillful. Also hiding behind TER and waiting until BLS can kill your opponent isnt that skillful either.

The whole game is luck and top decks. It does not matter how well your deck is constructed. If your opening hand has 2x mobius, magician of faith, and 2x return from a different dimension thats just bad luck. The title of this thread is roll call to see who is going to the regional in rochester and get pwned by me :) So lets stop talking about the luck of the game and "garb"

It's not that there was a big deal made of it or he has no life it's just that anytime someone with atleast a small amount of intellegence sees somthing thats stupid they correct it. In your case it's your use of a word in the wrong context. Teachers correct you, does that mean they have no life? No. The fact that you bring up no life may or may not imply that you dont have one yourself. Afterall, you DID just say you were rattled by getting pwned over the net.

This is a report on my older cousin, David, in the Regional tournament. I got the information from him on his pager as he won/lost. The deck he is using is Silent Duelist which is a Silent Swordsman deck.
Match 1 - Victory
Duel 1- Won by apparent "pwnage". He summoned Silent Swordsman LV7 and disabled his opponent's Spells until it was finally defeated. He didn't remember who won and said "...probably Ninja Grandmaster Sasuke."
Duel 2- He got his flank demolished by OTK by Cyber Dragon, Kinetic Soldier and Limiter Removal.
Duel 3- By using the power of D.D.M. - Different Dimension Master he was able to continuously revive his RFG'd monsters. He revived SS LV5 and won by that.
I will continue to report his progress...
Match 2 - Victory
Duel 1- He swarmed the opponent with Marauding Captain, Gigantes and Injection Fairy Lily after using Heavy Storm.
Duel 2- Opponent swarmed and massed him then proceeded to victory with Giant Rat.
Duel 3- after using up all 3 Sakuretsu Armors and torrential tribute, he used Goblin Elite Attack Force. He tributed it for Silent Swordsman LV5 and his opponent tried Torrential Tributing it but Royal Decree negated it. He finished off his opponent with the giant blade of his swordsman.
Match 3 - Victory vs. Jacob Ohayon
Duel 1- He used a combination of Marauding Captain, Don Zaloog and Spirit Reaper to beat out his opponent.
Duel 2- Loss due to losing all of his good cards early.
Duel 3- Silent Swordsman LV3 was topdecked for the win.
Match 4 - Loss
Duel 1- 4000/200 on last turn.
Duel 2- 1300/700 on last turn.
Comment - YBakuraRyou: I didn't draw royal decree
YBakuraRyou: ;_;
YBakuraRyou: that murdered me
Match 5- Victory vs. Brian Wintergerst
Duel 1- A combination of D.D.M. - Different Dimension Master and Silent Swordsman LV7 gained him a victory.
Duel 2- Victory by Swarm. He rammed Silent Swordsman LV7 into DD Assailant. He then finished with Marauding Captain and Sangan for exact life point victory. Life Point 0 bonus: +10 (If you play NTR, you'll understand this.)
Match 6 - Loss
Duel 1- Defeated by efforts of Cyber Dragon and Mobius.
Duel 2- Defeated once again by the efforts of Cyber Dragon and Mobius.
Match 7?
He fought valiantly but looks like he lost with a record of 4-3.

originally one of the top eight players was going to be disqualified because he had more then one TER in his fusion deck so they brought in the next player to replace him and this kid was disqualified because he had his decklist right but he forgot to add in a waboku on the paper so they were going to disqualify him....head judge just gave the first kid who was dq'ed cuz of TER a 1 game loss and just continued with t8 since it was taking forever

I'm going to kill whoever said that would be an easy tournament. After starting about an hour or so late, I got to about 2-0 and I couldn't draw a ****ing good thing for the rest of the day. THEN, they took (I believe) two god damn hours to figure out what the hell was going on with top 8. The people that worked there were nice, 'cept the one with the chin fuzz. He was kind of a ****. They were nice, but way too damn unorganized. I think I'll be sticking to Butler.
Oh yeah, and Mark did win. That was awesome.

Yeah man, you'll get your revenge on me one of these days, i'm sure of it. You know what i found to be humorous... after you told me your "Banana Phone" story, the next round there was a guy asking if I, or anyone else wanted some bananas... I laughed and was going to send him in your direction.
I played him round 4. We were both 3-0. It was a remarkable game. He beat me 2-1. I shook his hand with respect.
Yeah... definitely was a good game. I almost came back from that second duel with Avarice, but you had things already set up to knock me back down a few turns later. I also enjoyed getting Brows' effect off against you, definitely one of my highlight plays that last duel.
Anyways, I went to this regional and finished 6-1 before the top 8. My only loss was in overtime... and in my opinion, was due to a miscommunication between the judges and the players (End of Match Procedure)... because of this I lost my third duel by 100 life points... But yeah, I moved on to the top 8 eventually (after nearly an hour or more of waiting) and got to play a newly acquainted friend, Mitch Shovah, who was running what people called "The Fruit Basket," basically has a lot of field presence (Searchers), and ways to get them back (3 Avarices), and other ways to beat people down. It was a good duel, i just knew when to hold on to a card and when to play it. (I made a deck similar to it for my friend, so i had some experience with the central idea of it). Then in the semis, I was supposed to play the guy I "lost" to in overtime, but he gave me the win, partially because, in my opinion, he felt bad for not legitimately getting the win, but also cause he wanted to get home, ect... So then I waited for the other two guys to finish up so we could go to the finals. I played Gal Babich, a tall guy with longer black hair, with some kind of russian (or related to) accent. Not bad of a player, but i took him down pretty quick and finished him off by sackin' a goat with controller for his DD Survivor on his open field.
I'm sure i'll do a more detailed report later, that was just to let you know what i thought about the regional and such. I got a box of Elemental Energy, got some cool cards, but no Golds, lol. I got a few good trades there too:
My Cyber Dragon- Their UTR Goblin Elite, and TP6 Decree.
My S.S. LV5- Their Don Zaloog (ultra) and spear dragon (super)
Everyone I played was a great sport about it, even if i took them down in three turns (sorry about that man, i'm sure you'll get your invite soon). I always stick to my word, and I said i would do relatively good, i'm just glad i was able to follow through with that. It was nice meeting all of you people from New York and seeing some familiar faces from Butler, I wish you all the best of luck and skill in the future.
And just for the heck of it, here's the list of people I played:
1. Samba Kamara-Blue Eyes/Cyber Dragon Fusion Deck. WTF, lol. He actually got out Cyber Twin attacked my Spirit Reaper in attack mode (ouch), not to mention he got out blue-eyes more than once against me, lol. Fun deck to play against. (Win)
2. David Ortiz (Team Impact)-Regular CC Deck (sorry, just what i remember) Pretty cool guy, good sportmanship. All of Team Impact was pretty nice to me, so they're cool in my book. (Win)
3. John Sturick-Not really sure... when i think about this duel, i just see you struggling with the "Banana Phone" song, lol. (Win)
4. David Lamartina (Team impact)-Average warrior/cc deck (with his own variations) Definitely a cool guy... felt like a top 8 match, i was expecting to play him eventually and got my chance to do so. (Win)
*Right around this time, they gave me a loss (they marked it incorrectly) and they REPAIRED EVERYONE'S match! Sorry about that guys
5. James Hill- CC/RFTDD/Bazoo Lost in overtime by 100 lps because of a miscommunication. I appreciate your honesty/understanding and for saving me some time before i moved on to the finals. (Loss)
6. Mike Powers-slight bit of cookie? he was talking about running a Cyber Blader Lockdown deck, but didn't have the cards for it yet... could have been fun though! You'll make nats man, don't worry. (Win)
7. Brian LaPierre (Team Outdraw) a guy from Massachusetts (i believe). Not sure exactly what they ran... cookie probably. (Win)
8. Mitch Shovah- The guy that ran the Fruit Basket. When the fruit was ripe, i did the pickin' (cheesy, i know) Really cool guy :). (Win)
9. James Hill- Scoop (Win)
10. Gal Babich- Toolbox. He was thrown off by some of my odd choices for tech (as was everyone else). (Win)
So technically finished the day 9-1. I got my Nationals Qualifier, my judges mat, a box of cards, and hopefully more people will hear more about Sie7en and I in the months to come. Once again, it was nice meeting and dueling you all.

Yeah, I thought that whole "end of match procedure" sucked... I was really hoping that either I would have had some influence on the judge, or I got kicked out... either way, it would have been for you, lol. You should have been 10-0.
I'll definitely say that it was an entertaining regional, even though I didn't do as well as Mark... considering he took out two of the guys that beat me. >__<
Oh well, at least the losses were fun... I was rather amused, running against a Necrofear deck with Horus LV6's :D. It was fun.
I do feel, though, that the tournament was poorly organized. We had to "report" our win/loss, instead of, like Butler, signing a piece of paper and so-on. It could have been easy for someone to say, "Yeah, I won," when they had really lost. I know there are ways to avoid that, but still, I'm sure some of the people there would have done that in a hearbeat.
The whole, "taking an hour and a half to figure out the finals" was a bunch of crap, too. Someone didn't write down a Waboku in their decklist. Someone had three Thousand-Eyes Restrict. The next guy in line for finals had borrowed cards from friends and had already stripped the deck down when he found out that he could have competed. Maybe next time they'll make sure they have enough help.
Of course, it would have been better had there not have been a Magic Tournament right next door. :p
Anyways, that pretty much sums up my thoughts of that regional. I don't think I'd ever drive 3 hours to go there again (although the store itself was nice).

I just wanted to give a shout out to Team Outdraw, which is the result of the merger between Topdeck and Outlook, for another excellent performance. We placed, I believe:
4th Dan
8th Mitch
9th Neros
11th Brian
At one time we thought all four might be in the top 8 due to disqualifications although props to Millenium Games for finally working everything out and allowing the original top 8 players to continue on. Many are grumbling that they took too long but the important thing is that they made the right call and you have to keep in mind that these guys aren't veterans of running major YGO events, this was their first Regional all year and it ran relatively well considering that. Anyway it was another great showing for us despite some ambiguity as to who we are since neither of us are uniformly wearing any team apparel, mostly because we have no Outdraw stuff yet.
Further props:
Neros for almost top eighting with the Cyber Stein deck and Mitch for running the "Fruit Basket" with much success. It's nice to see that we're not just doing well but are doing so with some level of originality and innovation. Also major props to Dan for getting his National invite.
Lastly, my further consolations to Brian, who placed 11th, and had his deck stolen. It goes to show that this can happen to anyone. Props to everyone who helped him on the rapid restoration of his deck that allowed him to continue on, and further props to Brian for continuing to win, despite the fact that it would be a day-ending tragedy for most duelists.

The people that worked there were nice, 'cept the one with the chin fuzz. He was kind of a ****. They were nice, but way too damn unorganized. I think I'll be sticking to Butler.
You try dealing with 140+ people for over 8 hours straight and be bright and cheery the whole day. Besides, it was my first time judging (as a volunteer no less), so I didn't know every last little procedure (in fact, that's what caused the whole Top 8 problem, which will be explained below) and winged it much of the way. If you don't like it, get a spoon so you can eat my ass on the way back to Butler. At least I got a box for my efforts, what did you get? :p
In other events, that banana guy kinda creeped me out. I mean, an old guy walking around, saying "Do you want a banana?" o.o *shudders*
As for Top 8, the whole thing was one of the guys registered 3 TERs. Nate, the Head Judge thought it was a match loss, and a match loss in Top 8 before anything's even played typically allows the 9th player to get in. However, Neros only registered 39 cards, not writing in Waboku. Illegal deck #2, 10th place gets in; come to find out, 10th left. -_-XX 11th place now, and he disassembled his deck. In the meantime, the owner of the store, Ed Fear, catches wind of this and tells the Head Judge illegal decks are a game loss, NOT a match loss. So the original 8th makes it in.

Other than that, the Regs and overnight was pretty cool, esp. when I was able to hook up my GC and play Melee THE WHOLE F'ING NIGHT. Seriously, my Cube was on from 10 to 10, with only a half-hour break at 5:30, and people were on it all night long. d(^_^d)

Sup?
Oh and the banana thing is totally sigged.
And my teammate was the one running 3 TER rofl.

Kiss my ass. Should've been prepared for a Regional, no matter what the turnout. Why let registration run nearly an hour passed when it was said registration was from? On the site, it was said that people had from 11-12 to get registered for the event. If they don't get there by 12:15, too late, too bad. And that, what, nearly 2 hour delay between the end of Swiss and the start of the top 8 matches was because the Head Judge THOUGHT it was a match loss. Maybe he should've actually checked Policy Documents. If I would've judged, I probably would've gotten a box too. And next time they have a regional, maybe it would be good to have judges with more experience.
And I didn't see or hear about The Banana Guy, which I should probably be glad about.

So you were the one in the gray hood,or the one with like the facial hair on the chin?
I was the guy walking around with glasses, the Millennium Games jersey and NES controller necklace. Grey hood guy was Ed Fear (the owner), the one in the blue Venom button-down was (appropriately enough) Venom, and the guy in the official judge shirt was Nate. I don't work there (it'd be a 3 1/2+ commute o_O), and I believe Venom wasn't an employee, though I could be (and probably am) wrong.
Well anyways I'm the kid that came up to the computer in round 6 to correct you on mismarking my match result, where you gave me a loss instead of a win.
You know, the only times when there were errors with the matches was when Venom was typically running the computer, and not to knock him or anything, but he didn't know what he was doing. I really don't blame him, because he was a volunteer like myself, though he wasn't an official judge. It was just because the store was short-handed b/c of the Magic tourney that they even asked him to begin with.
If I'd decided to stay over at the Magic tourney, it'd just be Nate and Venom running things. And Venom stopped helping out at 5, as he left, so it would have been Nate by himself until Ed woke up about 7. Trust me, it could've been worse.

Until you judge an event where twice as many people as you plan for show up and you find yourselves understaffed, undertabled, and rushing against the clock to sign everybody up, then shut the hell up. As soon as I saw what was going on near the end of registration, I volunteered my time and everything went relatively smoothly (until the top 8 stuff).
And that, what, nearly 2 hour delay between the end of Swiss and the start of the top 8 matches was because the Head Judge THOUGHT it was a match loss. Maybe he should've actually checked Policy Documents. If I would've judged, I probably would've gotten a box too. I explained Top 8 above, and it was about half an hour, not 'a 2 hour delay'. And if you know SOOO much about running Regional-level tournaments, then why didn't you say something then instead of running your mouth now? You 'obviously' saw we were fumbling the whole thing, and yet you sat there, quiet. Which is what you should do now, especially since you don't even have any reason to complain since you didn't make it into Top 8 anyway.
Hell, I'm teammates with Dan, Neros, Brian and Mitch, and none of them had any problem with the way the problem was resolved, and Dan and Mitch made it into Top 8 (and you didn't). Oh yeah, and other than the registration problem (which, if I'd been around for, would've gone faster) and the Top 8 problem, exactly what went wrong? Oh yeah, NOTHING. So shaddup. t('_'t)
And I didn't see or hear about The Banana Guy, which I should probably be glad about.
For this, I envy you. *shudders again*

Did I ever claim that I was screwed out of the top 8? No. I was no where near top 8 because my luck the entire day was horrid. But I went there with a friend who made top 8 and WON the damn thing, so I had to wait around and see if they were going to get into the 20's with people to replace the DQ's for top 8. Wouldn't it have just been easier if the TO, Head Judge, or whoever would've had the policy documents printed out so they could reference the damn thing in that situation?

Like I said before, I don't work there. However, I wholeheartedly agree with you on printing out relevant information. It would've been a BIG help to myself, and not only in that situation. Hell, if I had known I would've been judging that day, I would've printed out the documents myself and brought it.
The main problem was that the store was caught unaware by the sheer number of participants, and was understaffed. The fact that there were only two official judges (myself included) running the whole thing didn't help any (The only time I've seen two judges run an event was the Sneak Peek in Poughkeepsie, and there were <50 people).
Not to knock the store, as they're all pretty cool guys, but they just drastically underestimated the workload, and that's what caused the major problems. If they can get someone with a little bit of practical tournament knowledge, then they're golden. Until then, I believe they're going to flounder when it comes to big, UDE-sanctioned events.

Yeah, it was a little unorthodox in format and such... but it was still a fun tournament. Aside from my lack of food and drink for the entire day, i enjoyed myself. :)
