A GBA-GCN link cable question

Hello, I have had a GBA-GCN link cable for along time but it's not a Nintendo one. Well, I never used it on my GBA SP untill today but it pushes the R+L buttons down. I didn't know if the Nintendo one was smaller and did not push them down or if it didn't matter....*Likes his GBA to be perfect*

the nintendo one is smaller, and dosent hold down the shoulder buttons on the GBA. there are games where u use them, like with the tingel tuner in windwaker, but u can always try trimming the edges. thats what i did.,
