View Full Version : Bumping rule needs to be more widly explained?
I for one hate it when people post *bump* just to get posts. But what bothers me is the fact that other words are considered "bumping." If your posting on a board and you reply to someone in a quote then say "agreed..." should not be considered bumping. If moderators do consider that and other words "bumping" but in different words should be stated in the board rules and should vary for different reply's.
Would a moderator vary on word or sayings that could be considered bumping?
Thanks,
Noah

I would make the rule if you don't post one senence it is considered bumping. i'm not a mod but if you post agreed then type y you agree if not the topic is locked for buming. only if i was in charge.

I'm fairly loose about bumping, but to me, anything that doesn't have content is pretty wasteful. Honestly, do I really want to know if like 10 people agree with something? Not particularly. (WHile I do appreciate it, that really should be in email.) I have no problem with people posting follow up posts that are short, but when someone just says yup, cool, right, especially if multiple people do it, it gets pointless, wastes our resources, and makes it hard for the people to get on the board (read server is too busy).
I don't really consider it bumping, but more of a wasted post, and just delete it. Remember, the bumping rules really only apply to threads you start. If you're in a different thread, it becomes a spam issue.
To sum up, to me, (I'm not too sure about some other mods, though I think would agree with me), anything that doesn't have content (posted by you in your thread), is bumping.
I guess I haven't ventured into the Yugi forums where posts are bumping. If you see those, use the report a post feature, and I'll check it out.

Oh thanks alot. It cleared some things up for me.(Not that other users in the yugioh site will care) I am glad you told me because the other day, without noticing i posed "agreed..." on someone elses board and catdog seemed to have told me it was bumping. I felt bad about it because it was not mean't to be just "agreed..." i accidentally clicked post message and forgot about it.
Well thanks for clearing up alot for me, thanks.
