Do you have any prefrence on wether a pokemon is male of female? I like certian PKMN to be a certian gender. Like Grimer for example. I think it's wrong for it to be female. But Clefary, on the other hand, I prefer female more than male on that one.

I generally make Slaking Female and nickname them Slaqueen.
Gardevoir should always be female, as should Clefable.
Mr Mime should always be male.
Otherwise, I like to have a split, in case of Attract. Genderless Pokemon are cool.

Usually I try to balance genders on my team. If I have an odd number of gendered Pokemon I usually go with one more female.
Also, whenever I do themed teams I always make sure the genders are appropriate. JMC Alakazam is male, Roy the Tauros is female, etc. Same goes for cool novelties like Harmony the Skarmory. (Too bad Trey the Magneton is genderless.)

tauros are always male :eek:
and if a pokemon has attract or cute charm, I make it male so it can infatuate blissey, which is really common where I live...

I used to prefer male- now i don't care much- mainly since if its all male- team will gett ***** by a Female poke using-attract- and thats no fun.

Umm, that didn't really come out very well... ^_^;
Certain Pokémon aren't any different IMO whether they're male or female, like Lanturn or Espeon. But I agree that some Pokémon who can be male should be female, and vice-versa. I also think that Staryu/Starmie should have genders and be mostly female.

Well, pokemon gender isn't really a concern to me.
Oh, and I can't understand how any pokemon that can be either genders can be specified as one or the other as none of them really have any, um...exclusive parts.

I wish Latios didn't have a gender(I never use Latias).

On a vaguely related note, Mew can learn Attract, despite the fact that it's genderless.

I prefer the gender to match whatever I'm nicknaming them, and that is usually dependant on what the pokemon is itself. (ex. most of the things I would nickname a ralts-kirlia-gardevoir are female, so I prefer that to be female). In the end, the team is usually balanced though.

I usually prefer to use a Male pokemon, especially if I want to breed pokemon with special TM moves or egg moves. Typically, I could always catch an appropriate female. There are some females that are hard to get. I would certainly hang on to those....esp the starters.

Gender really doesn't matter to me.
