Okay, I have a question.
How did you pronounce 'horcrux' when you first read the book?
I pronounced it like it looks, 'hor-krucks', but when I see the plural "Horcruxes" I think 'hor-kroo-seez', making me think that 'horcrux' is actually 'hor-kroos'.
Just wondering, since there doesn't seem to be any difinitive way to say it.

hor-crux-es
But the sound of the letter 'x' is what's in question, so typing that clarified or showed absolutely nothing.

Had there been an s or z it would sound like hor-crus. The x gives it an accent at the end.

i never really said it out loud when i read the book, so in my head it was a weird combo of whore-croooks and whore-crucks but later i thought about it and base it off the word crux (which is pronounced crooce). so now for me it's whore-crooce and whore-crooces
but hero of time, rofl.

I haven't read the book yet, but I know that its pronounced Or-cruu. Don't ask me why, I think its something like Portugese Literature. A question, If Or-cruu is the pronunciation for a single Horcrux, what is the pronunciation for the plural of Horcrux which is Horcruxes? I'm thinking it's something like Or-cruusis, but I'm probably wrong.

I never said it was difficult, I was asking how people pronounce it. No need to attempt to insult my intelligence.
Inevitable, is this something you've read up on, your own knowledgem or what? If horcrux is indeed or-cruu, then I'd say horcruxes would be or-cruusees

Oh, sorry. It wasn't meant to be presented that way at all.
I was talking about the difficulty for myself. Or how I would've said it. Thats all.
No pun intended at all.

Ah, my apologies. :o
One of the flaws of the internet: not being able to tell the tone in which something is said.

I pronounce the "cru" in horcrux the same way as the "cru" in cruciatus/crucio- "croo".
So my way of saying it: hor-croocs.
