An encounter of the third shine

A couple of days ago, I was in battling in battle tower when in my fourth or so round I encountered a shining Ludicolo. Here's my question: :confused: Are there supposed to be shining pokemon in battle tower that can be unlocked by making a certain amount of challenges or is this too, a random event, as in the wild? Thanks.

Um...I thought that was trainer tower. I saw Ludicolo in the Hoenn Region Battle Tower.

Yes,there are shiny pokemon in the Battle Frontier areas of Emerald. I encountered a shiny Kangaskhan in the Battle Factory a while ago. So yeah, they are there.

And it's random in R/S/E, unlike in FR/LG where certain trainer tower trainers always had the same shiny (there are screen shots of these too on serebii in that section if you wanna look.)
