Which Pokemon should I use for Fly?

I just started playing my Sapphire, but having played Red, Yellow, Gold, & Crystal, I always plan ahead on which Pokemon I should train. Well, the question is, which pkmn should I equip Fly with in the future? I was thinking of Pelliper, but I don't want 2 water Pkmn on my team (I started with Mudkip). I'm currently thinking of either Xatu, or Flygon. What do u ppl think? :confused:

I use my salamence as Fly firs into a MS nicely with him. But you have a while till you get Salamence.

Mmm...Xatu and Flygon...

If you're only going to have one or the other on your team, go with Flygon. If you're going to have both anyway but only one with fly, Xatu.

I used a pelliper. I also had a gyarados and sharpedo, but there isn't really anything wrong with having three water types. At least in my opinion. Mudkip isn't weak against electric, and pelliper isn't weak against grass, so you're not sharing any weaknesses in between the two of them.

Use a flying type<hahahaha>an HM slave mite be gud. like tropius; absol showed me that fly isnt good in battle

you can have all 8 tms with just Tropius and Wailmer/Wailord...

Wow...I know Swampert can hold 4 HMs, so I use him for most of my dirty work on my Sapphires. On my Ruby, I use my Pelipper (named Posley III) to get around. My friend reprimands me for "flying and surfing on my pokemon, not paying them, and then putting them in jail for no reason." But I don't care. I also sometimes use Crobat because he has Thief, too.

Don't put Fly on your team members. It's not a good combat move.

Well, I currently have Salamence, but you won't get that yet, so go with either Swellow or Flygon.

I used a lot of different pokes for fly...i use it against drake all the time on my rayquaza-ive had rayquaza,skar, altaria, crobat, tropius, and varios others

Fly will (hopefully) be merely for transportation purposes. I assume there is a Move Deleter person in R/S, right?

Yes, I know Salamance will take me a while, as I won't go Bagon hunting until I have Waterfall. :( Is Bagon in that part of Meteor Falls where u find TM 2?

Alteria sounds nice, but it has a double weakness to Ice. Flamethrower can handle that though ;) I'll consider it. Any more opinions?
