Tournament Times
Registration will begin at 10:00 AM and will end promptly at 11:30 AM. Anyone who shows up later will not be able to enter the tournament. If you are running late the day of the tournament or should you get lost on the way to the tournament this is the only time you may ever call this number 863-604-8193. Announcements and Rules will be announced shortly after Registration closes. The tournament will run so many rounds depending on how many people attend, which means we have no specific times to give you for the end time.
Tournament Format
Players will compete in a number of rounds of Modified Constructed swiss play. The number of Swiss rounds run will depend on total attendance at the event. After Swiss rounds are complete, there will be a cut to single elimination finals. The number of players to qualify for the finals will be dependant upon the total attendance in their age bracket. There is only one game per match. You must have a legal Modified Constructed 60-card deck to play in this event. Modified decks may include cards from the following Pokemon trading card game sets:
Expedition™ expansion
Aquapolis™ expansion
Skyridge™ expansion
EX Ruby & Sapphire™ expansion
EX Sandstorm™ expansion
EX Dragon™ expansion
EX Team Magma vs. Team Aqua™ expansion
Promotional cards numbered 001 and higher
With the exception of basic Energy cards and previously printed cards that appear in current sets, players may not use cards from older Pokemon sets. New sets are allowed as soon as the product has been released. There are no cards currently banned in the Modified tournament environment. Tournament Structure
Players will be separated into three age groups: Ten and Under, Eleven to Fourteen, and Fifteen and Up. All rounds will be played with your Modified Constructed deck. Players will have 30 minutes to complete each round, with each player putting out 6 Prize cards. Players who win a game receive three points, a player who loses a game receives zero points. If a tie occurs between prizes, there is no sudden death, both players receive one point.
Tournament Prizes
Prizes are awarded to the top 8 players in each age category. Our age categories are; Under 10, 11-14 and 15 and up. Everyone who registers receives a State Championship Promo Card! Top eight finishers in each of the 3 recognized age categories receive the following prizes:
1st Place
-State Champion Award
-1 Display Box of Pokemon-e TCG: EX Team Magma vs Team Aqua
-Two round bye at the National Championships (a bye means you don’t play the round and are awarded a win in that round)
-A Stage One VIP Package containing cool Pokémon Merchandise. This package will be awarded upon onsite registration at the National Championship event at Origins Game Fair.

Special Side Event
We will be holding a SPECIAL FREE side event after the Florida State Championship is finished, with over three boxes worth of product for each age group.
Players will compete in several rounds of Ruby and Sapphire Game Boy Advanced Battle Tower Format play and then several rounds of Modified Constructed play. The number of rounds will be determined based on attendance. It is important to note that the TCG and GBA portions of the tournament are equally weighted for scoring, so success requires luck and skill in both games.
Rules for the GBA Battle Tower rounds:
-3 Different Pokemon, No greater than Level 50
-All 3 Pokemon must have a different held item
-You cannot choose Kyogre, Rayquaza, Groudon, Celebi or Jirachi
-You cannot use any Pokemon from Pokemon Colosseum or Fire Red/Leaf Green
-Rounds last 10 minutes long
-No healing attacks/moves after eight minutes into the round (Rest/Recover)
-No switching after time is up for sudden death
-"Modified" GBA cartridges are not allowed
Players need to bring:
-Game Boy Advanced or Game Boy Advanced SP
-Ruby or Sapphire Game Boy Advanced Cartridge
-Link Cable for Game Boy Advanced (if possible)
-Legal Modified Constructed Deck
