So I was looking up cards that let you draw, and I came along Jar of Greed. Now I know there are a few combos that can go with this card, and I mean no offence, but come on! It's one card that lets you draw one card!!! You play it, then you draw the card you just should have just drawn. Not to mention it's like a ultra-rare! If it was common, that'd be O.k., but I'm NOT paying 20 bucks for THAT.

Please, no flame wars. ;)

1- It's not Ultra, it's Super Rare. It shouldn't sell for 20 bucks; at most, I'd say $5.

2- It makes a deck faster. It's usually used in Exodia decks where you should want to do whatever you can to get through the rest of the deck and put those Exodia pieces in your hand as fast as you can.

It can be used a bluff and basicly makes it a +1 advantage for you...

Its entire reason for existance is to thin the deck, so really the only deck's that would want to do that are decks that depend heavily on card combos or combinations, such as Exodia and Last Turn. In other decks, it's just a waste of a card. You can play a card you just drew, but for jar of greed you get deck thinage and have to wait to play the card you would have drawn.

I used to think the same way, but it does help speed up your deck. It also comes in handy if you play with cards that make you skip your draw phase. JL>

Then you probably need to look at the rarity's before you make assumptions.

It's alright. It's a 1 for 1 that you have to wait a turn for =/ I guess you could liek recover from a duo with it...

One way to use it effectively is to set it and wait for your opponent to remove it with Heavy Storm or MST or something--then you'll gain advantage by chaining it.

Its deck thinning.

40 card deck
1 pot of greed
1 graceful charity
2 upstart goblin
3 jar of greed

Almost like having a 30 card deck.

Jar of greed just looks werid enough. It's like Pot of Greed's brother except on a higher level of drugs.

Heh, its like everyone else said a crappy super rare not even worth a penny in my opinnion -_-;; and i's a common yes cause i have one or use to.

$20 bucks for a Jar of Greed?

....

The fact u get one card for one card is useless (unless it's an Exodia Deck)... that's why the pot rocks over the jar in all the aspects.

yea, jar was basically a slower than average deck thinner in exodia decks or other decks that relied on being small and drawing vital stuff fast. however, there are now much quicker and more effective deck thinners, but jar can be used pretty effectively as a bluff as many people have pointed out, and it can still be used for deck thinning. it doesn't suck, but its outclassed by other bluff cards and other deck thinners that have come out since its booster release.

That's a tad bit situational. I wouldn't run it in most decks though.

Jar of Greed makes a good bluff card that will net you card advantage if your opponent tries to destroy it. Ive only seen the super-rare version of the card once, I all I see is the common version :p .

It is actually a super rare that sells for 2 bucks or so around here. It is obviously not a card for every deck but for very specific decks, like Exodia, where I think it works pretty good.

um. quite a few WRONG statements.

-not an ultra
-not worth 20$
-not usless

This card is definetly a staple in Exodia decks. and its can be a bluff. and it can act as a Pot Of Greed if u chain it to ur draw phase. Although if u drew a pot of greed its a 1-3 advantage, but thats not the point. Drawing is very important in yugioh, thereforth its a useful card.

because it is a trap card, it is slow; you won't be able to use the drawn card until your next turn; that's why upstart goblin, even with the oponent gaining 1000 life, is a better and more played card. you can gain more if opponent tries to destroy it, but with decks only running 4-5 magic/trap destruction cards in a typical deck, chances of chaining this card isn't good.
