Well, Lemme know. If anything, send me a tell.

Ok I don't play, but what's the highest level you can get?

75. But it is so hard hitting 75. You need to do alot of quests and it requires alot of help from other people as well.

Is it turn-based like most of the other Final Fantasies?

I quit a while back because my wireless connection that goes to my room where the playstation is doesnt work. It would boot me after playing for like 15 minutes.
Anyways I was:
Jimmeh
19 MNK/3 WAR
Server Valefor
Rank 2
I loved being a monk. The only downside to this game is the tedious leveling.

Hollow Golem: No not turn based. It is Real-Time kind of and you control everything you do.
MasterJimmy: Well, nice to know. Wish you had more luck :(

If PvP means player vs player then yes there is player vs player its called ballistia and yes there is crafting and if you get really good at it then you become really rich
Azure819

Yes there is Player vs. Player. It is called Ballista.
Also, Crafting is a major part of this game's economy. You can craft just about anything. It is one of the best money source's there is and can't be overlooked.
As for what jobs you can play, here is what we have so far:
These are the ones you can pick when you start off -
Black Mage
White Mage
Warrior
Thief
Monk
Red Mage
These are the ones you have to unlock -
Ranger
Samurai
Ninja
Bard
Dragoon
Dark Knight
Paladin
Summoner
Any more questions? Any more people play this game on this forum?

I use to play. I was a Taru BlackMage/Red Mage 36/18. It was kind of fun but extremely party oriented. Also, the exp penatly when you die is too harsh.

Ya know, I kinda hate it when people pos and say that they used to play. Grrrr, quitters! Lol, jk.
Well, not bad. 36 was an ok level. Yes the game is very party oriented; but that is what makes this game unique: The fact that everyone has to rely on everyone else.
It's not like other RPG's that you can be the "Ultimate" person and do everything by yourself. That isnt realistic. You do need help and this game makes you become active with players from all over the world.
As for the EXP penalties from when you are killed - At level 36, you had it easy. You should see how it is at 46-75. But, you have to realize that by your level, you should have everything down packed and shouldn't be dying that often.

Yeah, I play. I got two characters:
Name: Tacyar
Server: Titan
Main Job: 43 WHM/BLM
Nation: Windurst
Race: Hume
Rank: 4
Craft: N/A
Linkshell: Past - TitanLightWarriors (formally anyways, but they disbanded about a year ago I guess)
Present - TheForgottenLegion
Name: Thoamros
Server: Titan
Main Job: 30 DRK/WAR
Race: Tarutaru
Nation: Windurst
Rank: 3
Craft: N/A
Linkshell: TheForgottenLegion
I quit about a year ago but I have come back in the past month> I found that my old character was still there, even though it said it was only going to be held for 6 months or something like that XD. I decided to use my old character as a money maker and start off harder then last time to make the game more of a challange. (Played WAR first as a Taru ^^;;) I don't craft, seeing as how I use to farm when the economy had the highest price as like, 500k. So, to see the prices jump into the 100k+ range for just about everything kind of helped me. This was because everything that I had farmed before that had also increased in price, and after comparing then and now, I actually make more money then I did a year ago (I took the new scale and the old scale of the economy and did some math to figure it out). So I can easily make 200k per farming session (roughly 1.5 hours) on either character. So, I'm very happy with the so called "bad inflation" on the Titan Server. People have just forgotten about how difficult it was to get money back in the olden days.
Btw, who's looking forward to the new expansion? I finally get to play Blue Mage, since that was orginally the job I wanted to play as 1 year ago. Of course, they didn't have it then =/.

WOW, I forgot about this thread I started, LOL. I am sooo much more experienced since then. Well, look at original post and you'll see.
As for the new expansion - Yea, I'm looking forward to Blue Mage and somewhat Corsair. Can't wait for new areas, monsters, jobs, quests. Gonna be awesome!!

Hmmmm...ive been thinking about coming back, alot lately.....the guy that helped me train when i was a monk has like 700 million, i guess, so we're pals and if i go back, maybe he can pay for all my spells and stuff when i start as a black mage....
hes like level 60, so he can power level me for quite some time :)

Phoenix :(
But I see you have maxed out your mage leveling. Be honest--How is it? I loved being a black mage, but unfortunately it only last till 17 until i quit, so i didnt get to see the wonders of subjobbing, chocobos, or the spell warp :(

All mage jobs are different. I'll break it down the best and in the most interesting way I can for you.
White Mage - Great for people who like to help others. I LOVE helping other people so, this job is a blast for me. We get to heal the best, we get the ability to teleport all over Vanadiel and we raise people to life, including ourselves!
Black Mage - Awesome for people who like to "blow stuff up" ;) They also get the ability to Warp themselves to their homepoint, as well as their teammates ( at level 40 ). Strongest mages in the game when it comes to damage dealing spells. For the record, I've seen a Black Mage do 1,200 damage, so beware lol.
Red Mage - A very tough job, but freakin awesome. They have Whte Mage spells, as well as Black Mage spells, giving them a good taste of both. But what is even better, they have their own unique spells as well. Spells that recover MP over time (on the person you cast it on), they can cast Gravity and make your enemy slower, giving you time to run away. Also Red Mages are the best enfeeblers so, they get to hurt the monsters over time better than anyone. This is going to be my next 75 mage job, ::smile::
Summoner - Ahhh summoner!! Whats better than summon Ifrit and having him whoop on a monster while your other party members whoop on it as well? Or summoning Diabolos and making your party members super resistant to damage for a while? SMN packs alot of strength and supportive abilities as well.
Bard - Kind of a mage as well so, might as well throw it in. Singing songs and giving everyone in your party special effects that wil lhelp them bring down the monsters in the fastest time ever, which makes for great experience for everyone! Another job for people who like to be around other people and have fun making more friends. Alot of fun with this job when you get the hang of it.
Blue Mage - Coming out in the next expansion, this mage type job will have the abilities to learn the abilities of your enemies! With so many monster abilities out there, this job is just an adventure waiting to happen!!!
What ever job interest you the most, pursue it. This game is awesome man, I hope you come back, especially to Caitsith :D

It takes time, hard work and dedication to reach level 75. I cant give you an exact measurement, but that shouldnt be the deciding fact on if someone should play. Its a great game, and I hope anyone who gives it a try has a great time.

i know this thread is old but i couldn't find a newer one. im about to start playing and i was wondering if you could play this on a laptop. like how would you move and stuff? cuz the arrow keys are used for something else... it would be kind of awkward to move using the number keys...
