Which anime do you think had the best music and soundtrack?

.hack//SIGN and The Big O have awesome soundtracks. I have almost all of the CDs from the shows. .hack//SIGN has the calming, celtic-sounding tunes, while Big O has orhcestra music mixed in with jazz and blues. Very schweet.

I would have to say Slayers. I love all the songs from that series weather it be inserts, openings and endings etc. I have most of them =p. My second pick would have to be Cardcaptor Sakura.

The only soundtrack I own is Witch Hunter Robin, which is awesome.

The soundtracks I want to get because I love the music of the show are Hikaru no Go, .Hack//Sign, and Wolf's Rain.

That's really hard to say. Personally I have soundtracks from Rurouni Kenshin, Dragonball Z (Japanese and American) Yu Yu Hakusho and a bunch from Inuyasha and I think they are all great. Except you could probably put the good stuff from the American DBZ soundtracks on at the most 2 cds.

I think Inuyasha probably has my favorite collection of opening and ending songs.

And Yu Yu Hakusho has my favorite image songs. Although I haven't heard enough image songs from other series to really compare.


Of course FLCL and Cowboy Bebop have really great soundtracks, but I personally don't own them. I want to eventually get the FLCL one.

Cowboy bebop's soundtrack is the best and big o's and inuyasha's is pretty good also.

Cowboy Bebop and Vision of Escaflowne had purely beautiful soundtracks.

Rurouni Kenshin has a nice soundtrack, except for the image songs... excluding Ueda Yuji's 'Kororo no Hadaka', which is super cool. Love Hina had a pretty nice soundtrack too. Mostly upbeat, but still very amazing.

I believe that Bebop, .hack//Sign and X have the best overall soundtracks. I own soundtracks of all three, and I certainly don't regret it.

However, I think Slayers and Inuyasha have the best opening and closing songs.

Argento Soma has a great soundtrack though Ive only heard a few songs. Also, Soultaker has a good soundtrack and on the DVD they have a lil sing-a-long feature that I thought was hilarious, and I cant forget to add one of the most peaceful calming songs to me Sora on Escaflowne the movie.

In my opinion Cowboy Bebop is the best soundtrack I have ever heard. Some others are Boogiepop Phantom, Initial D, Naruto, One Piece, Evangelion, and Gundam.

I got it imported through my local anime shop. Well my ex-local anime shop since I'm in college. I know the owner very well so I get perks. :D

My fav is All of inus and gundam seed. YU yu is probally my favorite show besides inu but the theme song suck.

yeah, I like a lot of anime ending themes too but I've noticed that many of them are j-pop, and that tends to annoy me because it just kinda makes the series it's part of feel more like a current new fad to me, in a way.
Though, I usually like the j-pop endings by themselves.
And I don't them being in Japanese at all.... I listen to Japanese music all the time.

All of Inu Yasha's ending is good except for the 6th opening (Kiss or something). The ones by Do As Infinity are the best IMO of course.

Nadesico the Movie, Prince of Darkness has the best ending song.

Best opening goes to Serial Experiments Lain's duvet.

I love anime music, probably because the theme song usually captures the essence of the show and reminds me of all the characters every time I listen to it. Its great to blast the anime music while you're driving. Its pretty funny when you pull up next to some one. The look at you, trying to figure out what the hell they're listening to.

Just Communication and Rhythm Emotion sound good despite the mass Engrish. The ending theme was ok, but the bits with Relena playing with the animals was just 0_o

OMG I can't believe nobody mentioned any of the music from Cowboy Bebop since he had some of the best anime music ever.I also like the Endless waltz theme,Gundam SEED music,anything from Trigun.FLCL ending song rocked.

i think that all JPN OP / ED are better then the US counter-parts....overall though my favs would have to be....

1. GTO OP and ED (also the in show music)
2. Hajime no Ippo OP1 OP2 ED1 ED2 (also the in show music and charater music)
3. One Piece All OP and ED
3. Gantz OP + ED
4. Tenjou Tenge OP
5. Full Metal Alchemist all current OP ED
6. Initial D all music (no not the US hip-hop bull poop they play in the US version, but the eurobeat they play...and imo fits in way better.)

I love Just Communication as well. ^__^ Great song. But I also agree that Relena was creepy in the ending theme. o.o ...She just bothers me in general.

nah, I don't hate it.... I really like it actually, it's among the catchiest I've ever heard.

^__^ I love "For Fruits Basket"! It's unfortunate that the dubbed opening is so much easier to sing... @_@ However, I get aggravated that the "baba ba ba baba baba" thing at the end of the song isn't done right in the dub. It's not that hard to do, but somehow, it was messed up.
