WTF is up with this?? I went to a tourny, and the store owner said NO IMAGES ON THE BACK OF YOUR CARD SLEEVES!!! OMG, I had blue ones with tiger eyes on the back and I had to buy NEW SLEEVES because of that stupid rule!!! Does anyone know if that rule really exists????

Yes, I know it is true since I went to that same tourney and other people have also said they had to change their sleeves :( .

I would think that rule is designed to prevent people from using images with slight variations to designate certain cards. The differences could be very small, only really detectable by someone who knew what they were looking for.

yes i hate that rule. i always have to buy new sleeves. also, u cant use reflective sleeves cuz u can see the next card in ur deck without really looking at it. its stupid cuz its just as easy not being see actually looking at the card.

Yea, thats true, luster. Kokujo, remember the guy who had those eye things and some were red and some were green an he argued with the judge? I think that was the number 1 palyer in our state. Anywaz, I am glad I bought just plain blue sleeves instead of the dragon 1s :D .

The local store here has dragon sleeves, but a set of 60 costs $11. WTF? I mean, they're sleeves, for crying out loud.

Yeah, it stinks that there are people who creatively manipulate their sleeves in order to see when cards are coming in their decks. Large scale tournaments (like for example, when I go to YGO regionals) strongly enforce these rules, and for good reason. That is why you should always have an extra set of sleeves on you or even better some extra cash just in case such a situation occurs. It is always good to be prepared.

i really hope they dont do that at LA, cuz i like my skull sleeves.

at least the sleeves i let Cecil have are garanteed legal, lol. i could always buy more of that kind.

For LA, you are going to required to use solid non-reflective sleeves.

I think that was me, since I was in that tournament and I did take it up with the judge. I though the rule to be rediculous. I had bought a set of sleeves just before that tournament with holographic skulls on the back, and then I had to go and replace them with crappy blue ones.

Blue sleeves arent crappy :( . I can kinda see how it would be possible to cheat with the sleeves you had before but, I doubt anyone would care enough to do that and it would only give you a slight hint as to what card you would draw. i.e. spells in the ones that had green on them and creatures in the sleeves with red.

How on earth woudl you do that? The holograms change color with the shift of the light, and essentially it was all the same hologram. And you don't put a solid black dark deck in light blue sleeves. It's just not natural.

Oooooh, I thought the card sleeves had different colors. I don't know why he made you take the sleeves off. I guess they were reflective or something, even though the judge said it was because they had different colors....

He said it was because they weren't all one solid color, which was just a load of crap to me. I don't see how that relates to cheating if it's all the same type of sleeve.

Because people who cheats can mark the sleeves and it's harder to detect marked sleeves when they have pictures on them. Sleeves with solid colors can detect marked cards without any problems.

It's not like they checked for marked cards anyway. and there are ways you can cheat with solid color sleeves too.

For local tournaments, it's not a big deal what kinds of sleeves you use as it's only a REL 1. But for CC, it's a REL 3 tournamnet, and therefore the standards are very high. Having the wrong sleeves can get you anywhere from a warning, a game loss or even a match loss.

For CC, every round, random players get deck checked. They check to verify that your decklist matches your deck and they check to make sure all your sleeves are identical. If they appear to be marked on purpose, they will refer to section 160, cheating. If not, they will ask you to replace the sleeve and you get a caution warning.

Top 8 are required to be deck checked.

Players can also request the judge to check their opponents sleeves if you think their are marked.

I dunno what this CC stuff is. All I know is they didn't do any deck checks or sleeves check, so there was no point in enforcing that rule.

CC is Continential Championship. These rules will be enforced in LA.
