Hey everyone I have some news for you all, and hopefully its new. Ok its more like information but hey. If you didn’t already know The Japanese TV series of YGO and the English one are slightly different, due to religion, or violence’s. This, which you should all be aware of by now.

Yet strangely enough the Seal of Orichalcos is the same paten on both the English and Japanese versions. That too you should be aware of.

But did you know that seal is a satanic symbol in the real life, which was mainly used by a Alastair Crowley.

So why wasn’t this changed?

Think how many times the Seal is played. They'd have to change the pattern on every single frame. That's why.

Yeah.

They have to save digital paint costs on One Piece -_-

You're referring to the pentagram. The seal is not a pentagram.

No, the Oreichalcos seal is satanic as well. But it has nothing to do with Atlantis and is called a unicursal hexagram

asdklfasf. THE PENTAGRAM IS NOT SATANIC UNLESS INVERTED.

Well, there's more to it. There also has to be the head of Berfomet (the horneg goat that represents Satan).

The normal, upward pointed Pentagram symbols many POSITIVE and/or neutral qualities such as: life, happiness, bountifulness, prosperity, nature, the soul, the elementals. It is also used in magic rituals that are POSITIVE by the Wiccans.

Also, the pentagram we know about is the unicursal pentagram, whereas "unicursal" means that the figure is made in one motion.

The "Seal of Orichalcos" is known as the unicursal hexagram because it too is made in one motion (make a diagonal N shape, like a lightning bolt, and then do it the other way. Without transcribing it in a circle it won't look very good, though) and is six-pointed. I don't know of the hexagram represents evil, but I doubt it.

I refuse to let such ignorance and false information on a well-to-do symbol be thrown around.

just because somethinghas one shape. or a similar shape. doesnt mean its satanic. or evil. a pentagram in wiccan isnt considered evil.

just because somethinghas one shape. or a similar shape. doesnt mean its satanic. or evil. a pentagram in wiccan isnt considered evil. You shouldn't think of the (unicursal) pentagram as evil except in specific groups. Think of the (unicursal) pentagram as good except in specific cults.

Like I said, the only time a pentagram is remotely demonic/evil is when it is inverted (turned upside-down) and/or inscribed with perfomet (a bearded goat that sort of fits the five points with it's horns).

To be exact, the upside down pentagram is "evil." The normal one stands for "good." (I'm not correcting you, just pointing it out.)
EDIT: Beaten to it. I need to refresh the thread after I'm gone from the PC for a while...

It stands for all the things I had previously mentioned. And the upside-down one doesn't really mean "evil" but just self-centered, greedy, apathetic, and all the bad qualities of humans. Plus, you need the Berfomet to make it really official.

I believe that the pentagram also stands for the five wounds of Jesus Christ, right?

That's right, I'm not in Spain yet.

Why are we jumping onto pentagrams ect.., the thread wasn’t about them it was about the seal. And why it wasn’t changed which has been answered. The seal no matter what you believe is evil in the real world and in the show.

As for the comments on other things, it is determined if its good or bad on the way its facing.

It can stand for the five wounds of Christ, yeah.

And Toon_Malik_Ishtar, it's already been answered why the seal wasn't changed. It would have taken too much time and energy to edit every single frame.

Also, I really wouldn't talk because I don't think you know what you are talking about. http://paganwiccan.about.com/od/symbols/p/hexagram.htm says something different about the "evil" you talk about.

Sometimes, a hexagram is JUST a hexagram.

ALL fictional TV shows take MAJOR liberties when they deal with religion and the occult. The seal of oriechalcos does not actually exist outside of the TV show. Also, satan is not, too my knowledge, mentioned at any time in the series. It may be a sign of evil in the TV show, but satan AS satan is not anywhere to be found.

So we're sort of going on the that tanget.

And just how occulty is the average unicursal hexagram?

Remember children, numbers are your friend. 6 = good, 5 = bad (when upside down).

The sheer amount of things you can learn on Sesame Street is simply amazing.

You can't just stick "good" or "bad" on the symbols and say that's all.

It's much like the Christian cross. Many people see it as the symbol of martyrdom and forgiveness, others see it as opressive and violent. So you can't peg a single adjective on any symbol because each symbol means many, many, many things to different people.

If the "Oricalchos" symbol is satanic, it is certainly well fitting because it was used as a symbol for the mark of the beast.

That does not bode well for the intelligence of anyone that would take such a statement as fact. Reall, I'd be surprised if that if anyone DID believe what I said could even read it to begin with.

Ay los Mijo this thread is getting nuts. Sure, you cannot simply tack ona a single adjective, but for people wanting to get the simple idea it is safe to say that pentagram (up) on the most part stands for good and the inverted pentagram (down) mostly stands for evil. Sure there are other things that come into play, but on the most part that is what they represent.
Anything can hold different meanings to different people; the little star for Hardee's represents constipation to me.
