I want to use Cradily in my team, but I want too try something a bit different than most I have seen. The plan is Recover, Mirror Coat, Rock Slide, and Solarbeam. I know I can get Recover and Mirror Coat from Corsola and Solarbeam from a TM. But is it possible to get Rock Slide from breeding to, is there a chain that would work or is it a lost cause??

Corsola ==>rock slide==> Cradily
Got Corsola?
I think before the move tutor we had to chain breed, maybe with walrein as the first pass I don't remember, but now I think you can just use the move tutor to give Corsola RS if you need to.

yes i checked my book on Emerald and Corsola can learn Rock Slide through the Move Tutor. So no, no chain breeding for you...you can rest easy tonight.

just battle in the factory...it's easy and you get some points for every 7 wins..not that hard.

Ok, well then you'll have to do it the way I did, which may take longer than geting more battle points lol. It's your decision. Here's the chain:
Breed a male Camerupt having rock slide with a Sealeo
Then breed the male Sealeo with Corsola
Finally breed the male corsola having both rock slide and recover with Cradily to get both moves in one breeding.
Got Day Care?

Ya, getting the Battle Points seems like a better choice.
Shiney altaria, if you Breed a Male Camerupt with a Sealo, how does the Sealo become Male all of the sudden?

It doesn't. Gender never changes. I was referring to the pair's offspring. A male sealeo will be born and that can be used in the next link of the chain and so forth for each step. The really hard part is not the breeding chain or number of steps it is trying to get the IVs you want.
Got 31?

That's ok. Now it is clearer anyways. And don't sweat the spelling. I suk at it too. I mean like after all, if I could spell I'd be shinyaltaria (duh).

i never understood IVs enough to use em.
breeding sounds like a much beter choice but i suppose i could just deal with ancient power until i earn enough battle points.

If you don't want to go too in-depth with IV's, there's a bit of a shortcut that seems to be little known; it's not very accurate, but it gives you a rough idea.
In the building just above the Battle Frontier Pokemon Center, there's an old man character who will read your pokemon's "abilities." You select a pokemon for him to see and he'll give you one of several messages, which I have seen to be:
"Overall, I would describe this one [Pokemon] as being:
- of average ability"
- of better-than-average ability"
- quite impressive in ability!"
- wonderfully outstanding in ability!" (not 100% sure on wording here)
This is in reference to IV's, which I first caught on to when he said my Alakazam's best stat was Attack when it was Modest and had no EV's in that stat. Average ability is fairly poor, so if your breeding, you may want to try for better than average: the other two can take a lot of time and/or luck to get, especially that last one (I think I got that one once). He may also have a message if you have a 31 in all IV's, but these games would never give me the satisfaction of owning a Pokemon like that to confirm this guess.
He also will tell you what stat your highest IV is in. Once he does, I believe he'll say:
-That stat is rather good (unsure wording)
-That stat is most impressive (unsure wording)
-That stat is outstanding!
-That stat is flawless! A thing of perfection! (31 IV)
If your best stat is "rather good", definately keep trying and aim for at least outstanding. (If two or more stats are tied for best, he will randomly say which one is best each time you talk to him).
As for battle points, the first couple times through the Battle Pyramid were fairly easy, and you start out getting 5 points each time through there. The Battle Tower also starts paying well after a while, too. Hope I've been able to help.
