I always hear people saying in movesets stuff like hidden power: water or whatever, but I have no clue how to choose what the type is. Anyone care to explain?

Hidden power's type and power are both determined by the set of 6 IVs each pokemon has. We don't chose it, since IVs are set when we get a pokemon; therefore, the type and power of HP is also set and cannot be changed.

You may want to look at the stickied Help Thread for some basic info about it and then take a look at the stickied Hidden Power thread for more detailed info. Than should be helpful to you.

Got Hidden Power?

If you can't understand that stuff which I can't becuase i'm a sped in math, just catch pokemon with the nature you want and give it hidden power. The one you want might be it! Or it could take hours. Hidden power is best used in netbattle where you can make it what you want. I got hp water for my raichu on the first one I caught. It's all luck.

Oh yeah to find out what hidden power you have use it on a kecleon or see what its super effective against to narrow it down to 1 type.

Its better if you breed for Hidden Power. But I wouldn't try it.

Huh, I posted here yesterday what happened to the Post?

Anywayes, Breeding actually goes really fast. And if you use the CrumbleSlop/Slippery Slop Technique you can go do something else and check up on your Gameboy every now-and-then to see if the eggs are hatched.

Does anyone have this problem. Very frequently when I'm posting on this Website, in the middle of my post a window will come up saying Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem. And it Restarts the Internet. And I lose my post and have to type it all over again. This has happened like 15 times in about a month. And it's really annoying when I do a really long post and this happenes. Does anyone else have this problem or do I suck?

The answer is that you suck (just kidding, I couldn't resist, sorry.)

No it's not you, it is probably just the browser. It doesn't happen to me but I'm running Nutscape, not Internut Exploder. About the only thing that does happen sometimes is the site gets constipated (nothing comes out) and I'll just like sit here waiting for the page to load or refresh. But that's the site not the browser. What version are you running. Maybe you need to update it. Oh and you may want to do what I do which is to copy any longish post into your word processing application so if things go to crap all you gotta do is copy/paste it later. Just a suggestion.

Got copy/paste?

Yeah, I always do that Copy/Paste thing. Every time I add like 5 more words, Copy/Paste. But it's annoying non-the-less. I was just wondering. Sometimes the site is so busy, it takes like a Million years to load. Ok, whatever.
