Because (correct me if I'm wrong [I thought I read this somewhere]) the Puzzle actually sends whatever card he needs to the top of the deck.

I guess this is Yugi........
1. Well, the reason for him to get the card he need is that because he is the Main Character.
2. For the High Level Monsters, I think the reason for him to have them is to show how powerful duelist he is in the eyes of the viewers (that time it was made, viewers consider a duelist "great" if they have too much powerful monster :p )
3. The time he summoned that Summoned Skull was from the beggining episodes of YuGiOh DM, right? That time, the ruling for the real duel was not applied in the Anime(another of this is when Kaiba Summoned BWDragon without a tribute remember?).

Well, that's for me :D

Well, it is an Anime, FYI. Besides, don`t you know the incredible powers of the "Series Creators"?

Kazuki Takahashi wrote the Yu-Gi-Oh! comic the way he saw fit. He never had a solid list of rules, because it was a WEEKLY comic! I'm POSITIVE he would like to spend whatever time he had making his comic the best it can be, but with a artist busy schedule, and his own personal life, IT JUST IS NOT POSSIBLE!

Yuugi and Atem are the two heros of Kaz-san's comic. They win because they've got the reason to. They loose when the author, decides to allow them to loose, but only if he had a way of bouncing them back into the game, that is why Yuugi never looses, because too much depends on it. Everything Kaz writes is a part of the storyline, it isn't filler crap, it all means something. Yuugi, when at his prime, never looses for tow simple reasons.

1. Kaz-san makes it that way.

2. Yu-Gi-Oh! means King of Games, meaning Atem is a master stratgist and gamer. It never stops working up there, if you know what I mean.

If you're too stupid to understand this simple text, go and read the irst thirteen YGO Comic Volumes already released by Viz, and watch the three released Uncut Volumes.

And while I'm still posting, the 'Heart of the Cards' was a one time phrase used during the Death-T story arc, and it was meant in the context that he had to believe in everything his grandfather had put into that very duel deck, love, passion, and wisedom (or something like that). After Death-T, Yuugi never used such a phrase agin, 4Kids finds that HotC is a good little catchphrase for the kiddies of the TV-Y7 version to use.

If you don't like the truth then go choke on a P.O.T. (Pissed off Tuttle).

The answer is that the bad guys never win thats one of the reasons I stoped watching Yugioh

1.It sucks on big balls
2.4KIDS messed it up badlly.

Guess you hate most anime, because usually the good guys always win in an anime. Or it's a tie/deuce. But the bad guy NEVER achieves his goal. Or else the series would end on a bad note.

Actually, that's from the Manga. In Jouno's first duel during DK, Yugi used the Puzzle to give Jouno Time Wizard for the win.

That's why there are good secondary protagonists like:

Jounouchi - whom are always so close to winning a Tournament or duel, but never achieve their goal. It allows room for the main protagonists (Yugi/Yami Yugi) to have that always win moto.

But those main protagonists eventually become conceded and lose (it happened to Yugi/Yami Yugi vs Kaiba in Duelist Kingdom and Yugi/Yami Yugi in the Doom Saga)

some of you mentioned... if the bad guys nearly always won... there would be no point to the show. And that is why Scriptwriters come up with different villains (for some shows those extra characters ruin the show - I.E. Pokemon -_-.)

I enjoy Yugioh for the cards and i could careless who wins/loses.

well while he did become conceded the Doom Saga, the only reason Yugi lost in DK is because Seto would've killed himself if he lost...I however would've done what Atem was gonna do and strike him down ;)

I don't know why he wins. I found that kind of messed up... but then again, every anime/manga is like that nowadays, so whatever. I don't play Yu-Gi-Oh for the show. I play it cuz I like the card game....... the REAL card game.

Dascove

Because he is the main character. Why would the main character always lose? Think like a writter...

yami hou
07-22-2005, 04:12 AM
Why would you want him to lose all the time? Hell, even real-life duelists don't loose as much as you want Atem to. Sure, it may get tiresome, but we can't have people like Dartz, Pegasus, ect. ruling the world, can we? And can you people PLEASE stop *****ing about the DK rules? That part of the Anime/Manga came first, so just frickin' deal with it, kthnxbye.

I am not sure how to make this any more evident, butthe pair of Dark Yuugi/Yuugi win their duels because they are supposed to win, remember in the comic, Kazuki Takahashi's rules are simple and are not as complex as the rules created for the real world release (the golden rule is: Manga came first, Animé second, OCG third, and TCG last) if Yuugi had not won each duel then the plot would be pretty much shot. Face it, he doesn't cheat.

Atem wins because he believes in the heart of the cards. the only people who win a duel is the people who believe in the heart of the cards. Atem beat Pegasus fair and square. Kaiba used heart of the cards and drew what he needed. no one believes in the heart of the cards so Atem wins. you have to have faith in your cards.

Actually, he doesn't believe in any Heart of the Cards. That's dub crap. The original is something like "all the souls are in this deck." But HotC was only used once in the original YGO manga.

That was one of the mess ups in their translations.

"Dekki Shinjieru" means "Trust the deck." 4Kids seemed to want to translate it as "Heart of the Cards" for some god-unknown reason.

The unedited ENGLISH Yugioh? If so, it still doesn't matter. The HotC is still a load of crap unless your talking about the Death-T arc in the manga, where Yugi sensed "the heart of the cards" beating within his deck. It connected him to his grandfather.

i dunno. But I am glad in the series he DID lose like 2-3 times. But I stop watching it because It's boring, the jokes are lame, and of course the good guy wins 98% of the time. But what do you care your banned.

Uh...yeah...he died...in Dragonball Z...did you ever see how he won against Piccolo Daimoi in Dragonball? That was like, the worst plot device ever.

He died in the second series, but only as a selfless sacrifice. He didn't really NEED to die those 2 times (Maybe for killing Raditz, but with Cell, he could had easily of moved him and North Kaio and the bunch to some other planet instead.)
