Is there a point to these besides getting a star on your Trainer Card?
Also how would you enter because once I tried to enter but my Pokemon weren't "qualified".
Is there an ultimate/cc Pokemon for these Contests that could win easily?

not that I know of...but my friend had a Ninetales that pwned the beauty contests...plus pokeblocks are essential for higher ranking contests...that is about all I can say on that sub.

Besides getting the star on your trainer card, you also get each of the winning pokemon painted by an artist and the paintings are displayed on the second floor in the Lilycove museum. I thought the paintings were really good. Also, after you get all 5 paintings, you'll be given what is the best secret base decoration item in the game imo (a glass/crystal Pidgeot statue).

There are different ranks to the contests. You have to go in order startinf with Verdanturf Normal rank contest (the girl behind the counter will give you the first pass). After that you can compete in the next one and work your way up to the master rank contest in Lilycove.

There is no one ultimate pokemon, but some are better than others based on their movepools (think combos) and natures. You may want to take a look at the stickied berry contest thread since it has a lot of info. I wrote a small section on the contests themselves that you may find helpful.

Yeah, the Pokemon you won contest with for Cool, Smart, Beauty, Tough, and Cute contests. Secret Base.. Meh. If you have Emerald, winning a contest is a whole lot easier with the Blend Master.

The blend master is an excellent addition to emerald as you have to watch the news on TV to see when it arrives, just like the announcements for the lilycove department store & slateport energy guru, etc... Be sure to save all your #26 - #35 berries for the time as they make the best gold pokeblocks as you can let him do all the work. Here's a sample of some of my outstanding contest pokemon:

charge/volt_tackle (Duking's plusle was father and held a light ball)

Oh man....Blend Master is awesome....that is how I got my golden pokeblocks to make my Milotic easier...he is justn a freaking life saver....hey if you guys want I can post combo's for the conetes...you know what moves and all...lmk I will see what I can do for you

I don't bother with contests anymore. But that Pidgeot Statue thing motivated me. I love Explosion as a last turn move. 8 for Appeal. No Jam. Allows no more turns to the end so it's nice last turn move for a big boost of Appeal Points. It's weird though, Why is Explosion under the Beuty Category? It seems more like Tough. Same with Self-Destruct.
