Heh... so like... I met Latios... and was pissed cos he killed my Golbat and ran away.. then I go pickup some berries at Berry master's. And I see Latios is there... I run into him... mean look him, confuse him.. throw him a Great Ball, breaks free. Throw him another. And he doesn't break free xD

I'm just so happy :D

I've never done that before. For Legendaries I always either go with Timer Ball or Ultra Ball. I wouldn't find that "Fun". More like Frustrating. Rayquaza Is the easiest to catch. Registeel is the hardest. For me anywayes. I did the same as Gogeta904. Except I used 2 Ice Beams. Then the very first Ultra Ball caught it.

It's interesting but in each restart I did on R/S I noticed that 2 of the 3 Regis wouldn't be that hard to catch but the third was a real pain in the butt. And it was always a different one. Other posters said that they also noticed the same thing. In Emerald when I went to catch the Regis I got Registeel and Regice easily but man was Regirock a pain. So I guess that is one thing that they kept the same.

I always keep my master ball in case I see a shiny pokemon.

The hardest legendary to catch is Lati@s since it moves around and can run away.

Hey Gogeta congrats on the post count!

Not really, if you use a Wobbuffet. Just go to one of the hot spots (the desert will do) and use max repel with a LV 30-40 Wobbuffet (train it 3 levels), then run around. Once the Max Repel runs out, then go to Regirock's chamber and come back out. Then use Max Repel again. You'll find it in less than ten minutes. I did this with Suicune in the place above Vermillion.

do you know I still haven't caught Rayquaza...I have over 170 hours of play...and I haven't caught him yet...AND I haven't seen a shiny yet...this is bogus

Oh... Registeel was the easiest here xD and Rayquaza the hardest. What pokemon did you use for Ice Beams?

I saw a shiny on Crystal... but.. ran away x( I was sleepy x(

And I forgot to take the Masterball on Ruby :o

What rock? xD

Hell, the last shiny I saw back like in FR was a lv 36 or something Geodude that exploded before I could fart. I learned the hard way to always have a master ball, since getting a shiny, to me, is aw3som3n3ss. Haven't even seen one in Emerald yet, with over 60 hours of play, but most of that time has been spent in a futile effort at getting the Gold Knowledge symbol.

Got master ball?

I think Lati@s is the hardest of the legendaries since it is the only one that is not in the same spot and it can flee, but there are several techinques, one of them pointed out by another poster, that make catching it easier. I've heard other posters say they've had trouble getting Rayquaza too, so maybe Ray is included in the Nintendo 'lets make one pokemon on each cart a pain to catch' list along with the REGIs.

Rayquaza is the Mewtwo of Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. Did anyone realistically expect him to be easy without a Master Ball?

I eventually caught it, and was damn lucky to get good IVs on the git. Now his S.ATK is 429. :D

I also missed the master ball on my 2nd run through the game.

yea, same here. 2 of the 3 regis are easy to catch but the third one is always a pain to get. but i guess it makes it funner to play since being so easy to catch would be boring.

Rayquaza was A Million Times easier than any of the Regi's for me. I got so Frustrated with the Regi's. And Registeel Struggled himself to death 3 times before I got him. Rayquaza was caught on my first try, first Ultra Ball I used got him. I found Groudon and Kyogre so annoying cuz they would use Rest a lot. But that also made it easier cuz while they used it and stayed Asleep for to turns helped power up my Timer Balls until they were Strong enough.

Summoner Yuna
07-14-2005, 04:34 AM
They have Rest?

I dreamed I saw a shiny Mr. Mime lv100 xDD

_-*$carface*-_
07-14-2005, 09:07 AM
Ya, they both learn it at Lv 50, at Lv 70 Groudon has Fire Blast, Rest, Fissure and Solar Beam. Kyogre at Lv 70 has Hydro Pump, Rest, Sheer Cold and Double-Edge. And if you've got Kyogre at 1 HP and your trying to catch it, aside from Rest it can kill itself from Double-Edges Recoil Damage.

Your speaking for Emerald or what? O.o

It's really not fair though; since Kyogre is much easier to catch than Groudon (Net Balls).

I've been playing Emerald. Found Latios about ten minutes after I beat the Elite Four, while I was headed over to wherever the Marine Cave was. Caught him with my Master Ball because I'm too lazy to chase him around the map. Then I caught Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza all without resetting the game. The Regi's were also outstandingly easy. I guess the Master Ball trick helped me out a lot (I mean the Up-B/Down-A trick), but I didn't have problems catching any of the Legendaries. For all six of the non-Latios ones, I used Ultra Balls, btw. I traded in the Latias from my Sapphire version to get all the Legendaries in my Pokédex.

Sephirtoh_Masamune
07-19-2005, 02:02 PM
Yeah another perosn who uses the trick...yah...I am not alone...:P

_-*$carface*-_
07-19-2005, 07:22 PM
Up-B/Down-A. Never heard of that one. I only heard of the (Pressing A and B at the same Time one) But these Tricks do not work even if they seem to. I think on Gamefaqs, Nintendo has comfirmed that there are no "Tricks" to catching Wild Pokemon. You either lucked out, or you judt weakened them enough and lucked out. You got guts to do all that without Saving. I catch RegiRock, I Save Like 10 Times to make sure. and with all the Other Legendaries.

BlankZero
07-19-2005, 10:10 PM
Oh, I definitely saved, just in case I needed to reset the game. I just never needed to reset the game, because I caught all of the Pokémon in a single shot.

As for there not being a Master Ball trick, maybe I'm just really lucky. It's just that there have been several times when the ball doesn't even move once when I throw an Ultra Ball at a Pokémon... then when I use the "trick," at the same level of health/status/whatnot, it somehow manages to completely catch them. Call it luck; I still believe it works.

_-*$carface*-_
07-20-2005, 09:17 AM
Oh ok, I thought you ment you did all that without Saving, so you did Save, you Just never needed to Retry, say form accidently Fainting the Pokemon or Running out of Balls or something.

This happend to me with a shiney one :( at that time i regreted using my master ball on rayquaza but i took a picture 'cus i knew i would lose it, it also happend to me recently with a chimeco (spelling?), i used false swipe and it used take down (that sob)

BlankZero

Grar. I never use moves designed for catching Pokémon. Seems like a waste of a move slot. I just experiment to see what'll get a Legendary into red, then I toss a few balls and nab it. For pretty much any non-legendary Pokémon, I just throw an Ultra Ball without even weakening it. Sometimes it can take four or five balls, but I have money to spare.

Ya, although Chimecho isn't that Rare. After 18 Wild Pokemon encounters, I ran into him. But it can be Frustrating.

07-22-2005, 04:13 PM
It seems that Chimecho is rarer for some than others. I spent about three hours getting one. I have about 1000 hours (total) on my R/S/E/FR/LG games and still not a single shiny. Sob...

WTF? K don't Double-Post. Lugia you need the Mystic Ticket. Celebi, you need the Bonus Disk in Collusseam or whatever. And Jirachi, you have to get from Colluseam Bonus Disk onto Ruby/Sapphire then Trade to Emerald. I could be wrong about this but this is what I've herad or whatever. I don't pay attention to these Legendaries Much.

speaking of shinys i got a shiny hunter and then made it evolve. Then my freaking game got screwed up when it got caught in the dryer, so many great things lost
