defrosting and waking up

<I was playing emerald and I was agaist the elite 4 (the ice person). Anyway I got frozen and for ten turns I attacked with attacks until I died. Then my ludiccolo got frozen but I used fire punch and was instantly defrosted. Do you always defrost if u use a fire attack or did I just get lucky? Also is there anything (not counting abilities berries ect) that has an effect on waking up earlier? sorry for the long post

luckiness....sure I guess so...but I know for sure that if they hit you with a fire attack you defrost...but I am pretty sure it was luck

there is nothing except abilities,items,berries that would wake up a pokemon earlier...I doubt there are any moves that do it...sorry

Doesn't Refresh Cure any Status Ailments. So if your asleep it will wake you up? I'm not sure but I beleive it does. And if your opponent attacks you with a Fire Move while your Frozen you will be defrosted. But I'm not sure If you can defrost yourself. Unless it's Sunny then you have a 10% chance of Defrosting every turn. And that is not a long post. I don't know why you even bothered to say that, the longer the post, the more stuff you have to say. Theres nothing wrong with that.

as for refresh...no it states on the move that it cures parilyzation,Poision, and confusion...I beleive that is all of them...refresh does not work with Sleepiness...I am pretty sure...I will check my facts

Fire Punch defrosts a Pokemon instantly. So does Flamethrower and Fire Spin. Its in the effect. I know most sources don't say this, but its in Prima's Guide for Ruby/Sapphire.

Ok, and Flame Wheel automatically Defrosts yourself to. Wouldn't any Fire Attack Defrost the opponent? I know Ember does cuz it's happened to me.

It should be. Sacred Fire does too.

Refresh doesn't cure burns?

LOL, Runescape. Ya I think Refresh Cures, Poison, Burn and Paralysis. I don't no why but I have a vision in my head and I see a Blissey with Refresh and I'm reading the desription of it and that's what it says. But where's this Image coming from? I've never used Refresh before. Or maybe I'm just imagining what I want to see. Whatever. Thats what I think.

Refresh cures any status except frost. How can you refresh yourself while being frozen :confused:

Any fire move except w.o.w, will defrost your frozen status automatically.

You get to choose what attack to use while your Asleep. It's like when your Frozen, you can choose to use an attack but if your still Frozen for that turn you won't use it. If you choose to use Flame Wheel you'll Defrost yourself. I guess Refresh could do that.
