This was one the best games ever made, in my opinion. I was wondering what those of you who have played it thought of it.
It was very simple and very well-designed. Excellent puzzles, soundtrack, storyline, and unforgettable characters... it has everything a good game whoud have.

It'S one of my favorite game on GB too ^^ Gotta love Manbo's Mambo :p and the Song of the Windfish hehehehe.
It was simple, but great. It was better than Oracle of Ages, GRRR, stupid mini-games --; Oracle of Seasons was neat but Ages was annoying. At least Link's Awekening didn't have all those stupid mini-games that had nothing to do with the rest of the gameplay! And you could steal stuff from the store ^o^

It was my favorite game when the GBC first came out.

It's one of those game with intuitive genius yet utter simplicity...
Have you ever made it through the game without once dying?

This is one of my favorite Zelda games. I am one who beat it with 0 dies, it is a real pain to do it though. If you do there is a special ending sceen where the girl turns into a seagull and flies away. The old game has the screen skip which you can use to get pretty much anywhere in the game at the beginning. In the house with the baby you give the Yoshi doll to do a screen skip at the top in the room with the family. If you do it right you can keep screen skipping till you get to where you want. I beat the game with out the first sword :D pretty hard though.

My brother plays it from time to time, but he doesn't enjoy old school games, and didn't enjoy this one. I don't know why, it seems like a nice game to just pick up and play.

This was a great game. I beat it without dying, and I've never used the screen skip cheat.
One question. In the manual, it has a character list, and under Mr. Write it says "Doesn't he look kind of familiar?" or something. Why does he?

Link's Awakening was great. I practically waited outside the store to get the DX version when it came out.
It was worth it... And, the Color Shrine was cool!

I've always wondered that myself whenever I play. I have yet to figure it out, though I'm certain the answer is something disgustingly obvious... in always is in such instances. :/
The Color Dungeon was awesome, though one the puzzles took me about an hour to solve because I messed it up rather badly within the first 5 seconds.

I love Link's Awakening. If it wasn't for the game, I'd have never gotten into the Zelda series. I love the story and the songs particularly 'The Song of Awakening'. My favorite area was the Color Dungeon. I've even used the boss's riddle in some of my fanfics.
As for Mr. Write, he kind of looked like Tarin to me. Course I could be wrong.

It was sad when the island vanished... but otherwise a very good ending.

what really iced over LA and made its legacy even better was the few references to the Wind Fish in MM, because if I have the facts right, Link was travelling back from Termina/Talmina when his boat crashed... I don't remember the end of MM, but even if he didn't travel home on a boat there's still that connection

But they killed the Ballad of the Wind Fish in MM... the jazz thing was nice, but nothing like the original.

You'll hear it while getting the Circus Leader's Mask in Café Latte. It's the sound test thing that you have to participate in.

So, were LA and MM really tied together? I believe so, because doesn't it say in the opening of LA that he was returning from "Termina" or "Talmina"?

I don't remember it saying anything about Termina, though it might have. It's been a while since I've played the game, fun as it is - rather busy this year.
I do remember the storyline being something along the line of Link leaving Hyrule in order to hone his own skills. He was shippwrecked sometime either before or after completing this and ended up on Koholint. There's a good chance he might have been elsewhere during this time. I'm not sure.

As far as I remember, Link was returning to Hyrule after completing a quest. That quest could have been MM.

I loved this game. I played it until I got Pokemon Silver for my Game Boy Color. I didn't know you could steal the Bow and Arrow, so I digged up 980 rupees for it (and I still had a name!). I usually just played it to beat the last boss though.
