ok, i was going through rout 119(? the one with the tall grass/mimic circle) and i had fake out on lombre, and i used it on quite a few pokemon, and for some reason, they didn't flinch! i am sure that wurmple doesn't have inner focus, so WTH?

id say thats probably just unlucky, isnt it like a 50-50 chance to flinch, im not sure but my best guess is u were unlucky. Its like me when i was early into the game on my new file with grovyle my cut missed 4 times in a row and its accuracy is 95. Then the 5th time it hit. Finally.

Fake-Out only works on the very first turn
other times, it misses

I know that (of course, its one of my favorite attacks), but it damaged the pokemon (i could see that just by looking at him), but they kept using strig shot, every battle (almost).
i know what you mean scarface, i got critical hit 43 times in a row in the battle tent, and missed bite twice (he sand attacked me or something)

um..I'm sure they Only Flinch if the Opposing Pokemon attacks first.

yeah, but, Fake Out always goes first, regardless. it acts even before quick attack and helping hand.

maybe it's a glitch of some sort...

Maybe it only flinches the first turn, but ive had it used on me by a trainer and there was like a 20 level difference and it was sceptile, who has pretty good speed and he still attacked first but he didnt flinch. Maybe its a 50-50 only on the first to to flinch and it attacks first. I dunno. Or it could be a glitch.

:/

Wurmple has Shield Dust, which prevents secondary effects of moves, but I don't know if that applies to Fake Out.

well Fake Out only flinches the first turn because it can only be used the first turn. and wurmple has shield dust, that must be why. good job, bluelightstar
