Sorry if this is a noobish question, but I'm wondering if you can catch Raquaza after you beat the Elite Four. Thanks in advanced.

In Ruby and Sapphire, yes, you can catch Rayquaza after you defeat the E4 in the Sky Pillar.
In Emerald, I believe you can catch it before you fight the E4.

in R/S You HAVE to catch it after the elite 4, because the sky pillar won't open until then...

So the Raquaza before the Elite Four is Optional in Emerald? Thanks for your replies though.

Yeah. the best strategy for catching it is to use the master ball on Kyogre. then go catch Groudon. And use those two to pummel Rayquaza till it's weak enough to catch.

I really don't recommend using the Master Ball on either Kyogre or Groudon... I would save it for Lati@s or a shiny...... Kyogre and Groudon are easy because you can save directly in front of them and reset if it faints or your Pokemon faint....

I know this is kind of off sublect, but I heard when your in the tower some of the trainers have shinies. Is this true?

They'll totally annihilate a Team of lesser pokemon.

shinies arent worth a Masterball. They are just like regular pokemon except for their color.

Well, in gold and Silver, Shinies had a "Shadow tag" effect to them. If they still do they'd be usable as toxic-trappers, without needing to trap.

Well, that's why they're only available after the E4 ;)

In FR/LG, there are about three trainers that have preset shinies. In the R/S/E Battle Tower, shinies are random, and each Pokemon you see has a 1/8192 chance of being shiny, like wild Pokemon.
shinies arent worth a Masterball. They are just like regular pokemon except for their color.
Well, I would rather use it on a shiny (specifically a Whirlwinding or Roaring one) than a legendary (except for the roaming one[s]), because not bothering to keep trying a few times for a legendary is just laziness <_<

In R/S, you have to beat Elite 4 to get to Sky Pillar, and Sky Pillar is east (or going toward the right) of Pacifidlog...
You just need to stick to the rocks on top while surfing until you come to an opening (that leads to the left...)

Yeah i knew it would be something like that but I thought it was an opening either between lilycove and mossdeep or dewford and slateport but i knew it involved a little space you can fit through. Then once inside all I have to worry about is the cracked floor so i use the mach bike to get over them lie in that part of granite cave above the crumble slope. Is that all i have to worry about. Then i can catch high level altarias, claydols, dusclops, golbats ( nah golbats suck and I already have 1) and best of all Rayquaza! Oh ya and just asking the people who didnt use master ball on rayquaza, did u use timer balls, ultra balls, or both? cuz I still have my master ball and If i can catch him without it then i will. but in my last game i used master ball. I caught my groudon and all the regi's w/o the masterball and i was saving my masterball for rayquaza but if I dont need to use it ill try not to. Last thing, just saying about the shiny things, dont get your hopes up on catching a shiny pokemon, cuz think of it like this, out of all the wild pokemon youve ever incountered in your entire life, dating all the way back to red/blue/yellow, if you played those, how many of them were shiny. For me 2, in fire red a shiny mankey, and in silver a shiny rattata. :( And I beat the indigo plateau earlier, just asking people, what were there pokemons level when they beat the E4. Last thing, is this a good moveset for groudon, plz help me make it better, im not mentioning the items or none of that just the moves,
Solarbeam - cuz his drought makes it 1 turn attack
Fire Blast - Doesnt he learn some move called eruption at 75?
Earthquake - cuz hes pure ground so its good and its accurate.
Iron tail - This is the only move im questioning, i dont no what to but here.
Im also workig on My Aggrons moveset ( Aggron is my fav ) but iv talked to much.

Eruption's not that great. It's power is tied to your HP. sure it has 150 when your HP is full but Groudon is too slow to keep it up for long. If you're in the red zone it's kinda pathetic. Fire blast, Solarbeam, EQ is pretty much the best.
Edit: After beating the Elite four and catching Groudon and Rayquaza, my strongest pokemon is 53.
Edit2: Aggron. Physical sweeper. EQ, Iron Tail, Double Edge, Rockslide

Replace Iron Tail with Rock Slide or Hyper Beam.
Hyper Beam is when it's nearly dead, and you want to make a final effort of weaking the opponent for your next Pokemon.

nah im keeping iron tail.
right now he has EQ, Iron Tail, Fire Blast and Thunder. Im definitly taking of those cuz aggrons special attack sucks, i just needed to fill the space. he is lv 60 right now so at 63 ill have double edge. And he's got rock head so theres no recoil damage. How would i get him rockslide?
So it'll be Iron Tail, Earthquake, Double-Edge and Rockslide. I like it.

Rock Slide requires breeding with Camrupt, I believe.
And Iron Tail is only good in the anime show...

i like iron tail, its good againts ice, rock... can someone tell me what steel is good againts. God, i should no this by now. And when i breed him, do i have to breed him with some1 that learns rockslide, then train the lv 5 back to 60 as a newly improved aggron. If thats the case, it doesn't matter, i had a lv 5 beldum, gave him exp share and went through the pokemon league a bunch of times. 3 days after i first got him he is now Metagross lv 51 and i dont need to exp share him he can fight them. Ill to that with the aron.

Breed Aggron with someone who learns Rock Slide that's in his egg group for faster results. Each Pokemon that hatches start from level 5.
Steel is good against Dark, or something.

my camerupt has rock slide, how do i know if there in the same group. Ive never expiramented with breeded pokemon to get cool moves and stuff. Its all new to me. Also, my Solrock has rockslide.
marhawkman
05-28-2005, 06:38 PM
I tried that. it doesn't work. Camerupt is Field group. Aggron is Monster. So I found a female Rhyhorn, since it's in both egg groups. Camerupt(M) with EQ and Rockslide, breeds with Rhyhorn(F). I get rhyhorn eggs that have both EQ and Rockslide. I take a male one and breed it with aron(f). I get aron eggs with EQ. No rockslide..... Apparently the only way to get an aggron with Rockslide is to have one of the tutors at Battle frontier teach rockslide to your Aggron.

replace fire blast with flamethrower it has better accuracy and drought boosts it anyway

thx for that advice, but in ruby, they still call it the indigo plateau, but if its easier for u, the E4.
