What Are some Good Moves for Sceptile I could Teach so he could be better against the Elite Four. His Current moves are
-Bullet Seed( I don't know what move to replace for this one
-Slam( Kind of Annoying It almost always misses all the time I used it)
-Leaf Blade( Kind of Good but not that good against The Elite Four Dragons )
-DoubleTeam( I don't know if I should get rid of this move)

My Sceptile is at Level 72

Dragon Claw

Thats a good moveset for him. You could also replace HP with Toxic

how to get this kick-@$$ moveset WITHOUT USING TMS?? DUM DUM DUM!!!

Gulpin learns Toxic at 30 something. Catch a male one, train it (without letting it evolve) until it learns toxic.
Breed with female Castform to get a male castform with toxic.
Breed with female Pikachu to get male pikachu(with toxic).
Breed that with Rhyhorn(F) to get rhyhorn(M) with toxic.
Breed with Bagon(F) to get bagon (M) with toxic. Train the (M)Bagon without letting it evolve, until it learns crunch, then Dragon claw(It gets it around 49 I think)
Then you just breed the male bagon with a female sceptile and you're done. Easy huh? :p

I haven't touched my Ruby in a very long time, so this might not be good =/

@ Leftovers
Leech Seed
Solar Beam
Sunny Day
Dragon Claw

252 SA, 252 HP, 6 SP.D

For Super-effective or neutral types, start out with Leech Seed, charge up Sunny Day, use SB like crazy until it runs out, then rely on Dragon Claw. Should be able to pwn like crazy with a diverse team.

For hard to kill types, if you don't have any more Pokemons to switch, Leftovers and Leech Seed would let it live a bit longer, not that it would help anyway. NEVER, in any circumstances, USE SUNNY DAY IF THE OPPONENT IS USING FIRE TYPE (yes, I know that's the oldest rule in the book, but meh, makes this post look more professional =P). Just Dragon Claw them like crazy, until you run out, then use PP restore if you can, or just use SD and wait for Sceptile's death.

You have to pass the move through something else to get it to bagon. Like maybe treeko... and you can't get dragon claw without using the TM... Treeko can't learn Claw...... so if you're gonna use just breeding you'd have to settle for dragon breath.

yah, but its fine for in game. Not everyone competes. You could always take Crunch off and go for Leech Seed.

Well if you dont compete, the game eventually gets extremely old... You can only replay it so many times.

I think he means playing against other players not only against the computer (Link Battles)

NetBattle is a good place to battle if you dont have players around you.

you dont need to even own the games. you choose everything about the pokemon. You give them whatever IVs, EPs, and natures you want. You can give them any item and any move (as long as they can learn it of course). It's not the "world" part of the game, it's just the battling. You battle people all over the country (and occassionally some from outside). It is basic GB rules: no legendaries, no illegal movesets, sleep/freeze clause...

It is pretty competitive, so don't go in as a complete n00b. Make sure that you know a thing or two or you will need to change your name a lot... People will sometimes be nice if you ask for help, but dont count on it. If they dont respect you, they probably wont help you, so be polite and you should take criticism well.

okay another question what are ev's, iv's and when u say things like HP Ice and HP Ghost, stuff like that what do u mean?

EVs or EPs mean "Effort Values/Points". When you ko a pokemon, all of the pokemon that fought and didn't faint get EVs in a certain stat that depends on the pokemon that you defeated. You can find what gives what EVs on serebii.net. You also get EVs from vitamins. Each pokemon has a total of 510 EVs. There is also a max of 255 EVs per stat. Vitamins give 10 EVs each time, but cant be used past the first 100 EVs in that stat. The pokemon's stat goes by this formula...

(5 + (2 x base stat + EV/4 + IV) x level/100) x nature

HP is like this...

level + 10 + (2 x base stat + EV/4 + IV) x level/100

when there's a decimal, it gets rounded down no matter how close it is.
So the most EVs you want in a stat is 252, because more than that is wasteful.

IVs are randomly chosen when you run into the pokemon. They can be 0 to 31. They are usually different for each set. You want as close to 31 as possible, because its a simple advantage...

HP:Ice/Ghost/whatever is the move Hidden Power. It has a "hidden" power and type. The power and type depend on the IVs. The formula for figuring it out is really confusing, so I won't go into it. The highest power possible is 70.

i also use Leaf Blade/Crunch/Dragon Claw/T-Punch for special sweeping... he has a great special attack rating and an amazing speed stat, as opposed to average special defense and below-average defense, which is why i dont understand people liking variations of the sceptic tank set more than a sweeping set.
