My monster attacks a f/d Spirit Reaper. During the damage step, Spirit Reaper flips up, and at this point I activate Rush Recklessly targeting Spirit Reaper, so Spirit Reaper gets destroyed by its own effect. Is there a replay to be declared now since there is a different number of monsters on the field or has my monster finished its attack as it had already entered the damage step?

Replay would only occur if the number of monsters on field changed when you declared the attack, so Reaper dies by being targeted by Rush Recklessly but no replay. Someone verify or elaborate on this for me.

Rush Recklessly resolves, then SR is destroyed...wow wow wow. Why are you doing this anyway? if its f/d its not in ATK, so RR has no effect.

You're not reading my question properly, I'm not asking about SR or RR's effect - I know what their effects are and how they work and I know that RR can't target f/d monsters. What I'm asking is if Spirit Reaper dies during the damage step, does it allow my monster to replay its attack?

Captain: Thx for your reply, I'd assume that's true unless other people wish to elaborate.

But you should've picked an example that MADE SENSE then. Also, you should really post all Qs in one post, it saves time and gets you more answers generally.

Regardless, i am pretty sure if you destroy SR in the Damage step, even by its own effect, then there is no replay, as the timing is away out the window.

Lemme clarify:

In order for Spirit Reaper to be flipped face up, you had to attack it. A replay basically says "Whoops, that didn't count." If its flipped, its too late for a replay. The Spirit Reaper dies, but you don't get a straight shot with the same monster.

Made perfect sense to me, he activated rush recklessley at the beginning of the damage phase AFTER it had been flipped face up by the attack. But, I do agree with the others no replay, attck had to have gone through in order to flip the spirit reaper.

BTW: I disagree about posting all questios in one post (unless the questions are related. It makes searching for answers very difficult as the thread title cannot adequtesly describe all questions in the space allotted. How many posts have we seen with the titles, Help, Question, A couple of Question.... You get the drift. Sure a search can limit things, however, a lot of times just because it has your search terms, it doesn't mean it contains your answer and it is ALWAYS better to search first.

1) Replays only occur if the number of monsters on the defender's field changes during the Battle Step, not the Damage Step, so everyone was right about no replay.

2) We have the "post all questions in one thread" rule because having 10 threads with 10 different questions all from the same person is just a waste of board resources.

It's less stress on the board to have two threads posted a month apart addressing the same question than it is to have 10 threads on 10 different ones.

It's a moot point, really, as virtually every question that's asked here can be easily answered by reading the UDE FAQ and/or rulebook...

Replays only occur in Battle Step, not Damage Step when "Spirit Reaper" is flipped over.

"Rush Recklessly" as an ATK modifier can be played during Damage Step and can target "Spirit Reaper"; however, "Spirit Reaper" will not destroy itself until after Damage calculation. Here's the ruling:

• If "Spirit Reaper" is destroyed by its effect during the Damage Step, such as if "Rush Recklessly" was activated to increase its ATK, destroy "Spirit Reaper" with its effect AFTER damage calculation.

It's probably not worth wasting "Rush Recklessly" at this point to destroy "Spirit Reaper" as no extra damage will be done.
