Movie Sequel News?

I read last week in a Yu Gi Oh maganize that 4Kids are currently making a sequel to Pyramid of Light. Has anyone else heard of this?

Yes, it would probably suck if they did this. Sequels rarely live up to their predecessors, and PoL was hardly anything to live up to (though it DID have some decent lines, and a winged Sphinx).

If there is going to be a sequal, I hope it has Judai dueling Yugi for real. Or have Judai duel Ra himself. That would be interesting to see, no?

Also, it would be cool to see Manjyome-sama or Kaiser Ryo duel Seto Kaiba. Or a tag-team duel: Seto and Mokuba Kaiba vs. Ryo and Sho Marufuji.

I am a complete and utter idiot, but at least I am able to creat interesting ideas.

Anyway, you can't get much worse than Pyramid of Light--so what have we to fear? 4Kids, etc, takes the criticisms, mistakes, blunders, bloopers, and reactions from Pyramid of Light and funnels all of it into the next one. There's nowhere for another YGO movie to go but up, at this point.

Anyway, if it entertains you for even 20 minutes, and you get some good promos out of it, I don't see a problem with creating another. I've been thinking up storylines since the first one's debute. Besides, unless GX explains to us what happened between the end of Duel Monsters and its beginning, we're going to need something like a movie to fill us in.

But, alas, this seems like a far-fetched rumor, so I will depart now.

I also heard that other countries got to see Pegasus's empty eye socket (on YGO******, I think). I can't confirm it, though. Either way, the little kids were crying by the time the movie was over.

I actually liked the movie. Sure it wasn;t the greatest one I had ever seen but it was entertaining. All the insults Pegasus aimed at Kaiba were great

PoL really had a lot of things going for it when compared with your average episode of Yu-Gi-Oh!, I'll admit. I'm just not sure that 4Kids wants to see the movie critics' flaming torches, again. Then again, they weren't fans.

Maybe if they made an OAV (straight-to-video release), they could make a sequel. Maybe rated higher than the anime so that they wouldn't have to cut anything or make it sound like an advert. TRUE fans would get it. Movie critics would remember the first one and shudder.

Oh, wait, that's if 4Kids was SMART.

The Japanese version was a whole lot better. Kaiba was being influenced and controlled by Anubis to do what he did, rather than him being just a "gluteus maximus." He even praises Yugi by calling him a Shin Duelist at the end.

I actually used to enjoy them, until that fifth one: it was a horrible blend of classic and digital animation that just made me sick. Add in the horrible diologue, music, storyline, and overall animation, and you have yourselves something far worse than Pyramid of Light.

I hope they continue to make Yu-Gi-Oh! movies. I just hope it doesn't become quite as rediculous as Pokemon has become . . .

Also, with a straight-to-video release, would they bother with more than one promo? I think they should, in that event, make it a 2-4 promo package.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the next movie SHOULD bridge GX and DM. I drafted up a plotline months ago where Kaiba and Yugi (everyone else has left Domino to live their lives) are forced to fight yet another ancient evil. Somewhere within that, Kaiba-boy rescues Judai Yuki (a young boy, probably no older than 6 or 7).

And, the movie could be one giant flashback to what got Judai into Duel Monsters in the first place, or some other important influence on his life. End it with an announcement that Yugi and Kaiba are going to put on a dueling expo at the Academia. After Judai meets Yugi (who remembers the Hane Kuriboh card, and gives his congrats to the Drop-Out boy for his own accomplishments), the duel begins--and the curtain closes a move or two in, where Yugi and Kaiba display either completely new strategies, or very old ones.

Something like that.

I know there are probebly going to make at least 1 more Yu-Gi-Oh! movie but i can almost Gaurentee that it will not involvle Yugi/Yami because it will be based on Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. Also i hope they dont make the same mistake with the yu-gi-oh! card game as they did pokemon.

The first movie sucked... Hopefully this Japanese import (if that's what they want to give us) will be better, because I personally don't think the movie could have been too much worse.

But, hey, at least the promos were useful. I mean, the Blue Eyes Shining Dragon (oh, wait, no... We're STILL waiting on the [SAVE THE KITTENS!!!]), there's the difficult to summon Sorcerer of Dark Magic (well, I'm sure someone disagrees, but whatever), the Pyramid of Light (ok, that one is sort of useful, I guess), and then there's Watapon, which I'd probably just trade to some little kid who thinks it's cool or whatever. (I got the Shining Dragon, so I didn't have to worry about it.)

Besides, odds are that it will most likely be toned down so that little kids can bring their mommies and daddies to see a "family movie"... How pathetic. If that happens, and you know it probably will, I'd say that the movie will suck. But, hey, new promos... Woo hoo.

Maybe if they let FUNImation release it, it'll have JPN-English tracks. FUNI isn't as limited as 4Kids, and they did the Uncut DVDs (which they should've done a LONG time ago). That'd be okay, if they didn't butcher the subtitles (ex. "Summoned Skull" when it's clearly "Demon Summon").

Can anyone say Yugioh GX movie? It's very possible with GX coming to the states soon and all that we could get a huge GX publicity stunbt with promos and crap to hype up the series before it comes out. The movie will probably suck if 4 kids makes it. But we all love promos, don't we? :p

Here's how I rate each of the movies of Pokemon.

Pokemon the First Movie: Not bad, but didn't like it.
Pokemon the Movie 2K: Okay, but Tracy didn't get enough lines *like maybe 2*
Pokemon 3 The Movie: Awsome, it was cool.
Pokemon 4Ever: Didn't see it, will this week.
Pokemon Heros: Not yet, hopefully on Cartoon Network
Pokemon Jirachi Wish-Maker: That movie pwned, was my favorite.
Pokemon Destiny Deoxys: Was touching, and cool with robots!

But that's offtopic.

Pyramid of Light was okay. The japanese version I kinda hated. Why? Because of the same kind of words they say over and over again! Especially when they duel, like when they draw a card and they always say the same thing! *maybe not all people*

Plus, the Voice Actors for Kaiba, Jounouchi, Honda, and Pegasus were just horrible! They do not match the character at all!

There wasn't enough talk in the beginning when we saw all the people in the cities and looking on the internet on Yugi.

Japanese text? Oh come on! I thought it would be in english because of the fact that we had english text on our cards! I don't even see how they did a nice job on that, with the dubbing they do anyway.

And furthermore, Kaiba isn't the stuck-up jerk I know and love in the dub. That Kaiba is cool, unlike the japanese one.

Not the same boring japanese music. Borinng.

Oh yeah. The next movie won't be horrible at all. GX will probably be the main deal, and we'll see a whole lot of Judai on the big screen! Yay!

Isn't there a Straight-to-video released with Mewtwo returning?

It would be nice to have a sequel that took place between the end of Yu-gi-oh Duel Monsters and Yu-gi-oh GX, showing what happened to Yugi, why Kaiba had the Duel Academy built (maybe to protect those 3 cards being sought after by the assassins in the current storyline in GX?).

That wasn't really a movie, the way the others were. No opening theme song, shorter than normal, etc. More enjoyable than some of the more recent ones, but more like that Yu-Gi-Oh! special "movie" starring the kid with Red-Eyes B. Dragon.
