What would be good moves to teach Umbreon and make it offensive as well, i was thinking of teaching mine Psychic?
Any help would be cool. and also in Emerald/Ruby/Sapphire what time does "night time" start officially by the game's standards?

I like curse set, or psych up set
Standard set is
Wish
Toxic
Mean Look
Baton Pass

That isnt a very good moveset, but its not because it's not offensive. because you can have a good set without having offensive attacks its bad because it doesnt go after one specific purpose, its trying to go in several directions at once.

I should've specifically mention that, he"s a tank and can not really function as a physical or special attacker. Good enough for ya

Lock and toxic...hmm not a specific direction eh? Baton pass to someone who's resistant to the current pogey. Wish is a utility move to refresh those who have lost massive amounts of hp.

heres what my moveset will probably be
Confuse Ray
Psychic
Baton Pass
idk i cant have a non aggressive mon in my team even if he is an impressive tank...umbreoin is a dark type and i take advantage of that, i just hate having moves that DO NOTHING except for toxic

I liked the first Umbreon idea.
Item: Bright powder/chesto berry
Toxic
mean look
rest
Double team(or confuse ray)
EDIT: Umbreon has crappy attack stats. Thus Umbreon needs an annoyer/tank moveset.

Good Umbreon@Leftovers
-Atk, +Def
Mean Look
Toxic
Confuse Ray
Rest
something like... 1-HP, 63-Def, 63-Sp.Def
Toxic Trapping is nothing. Toxic-Confusing Trapping is way better. Rest for a cure-all.

i took that toxic trap under note and trained my Umbreon (named Hannibal) to give it this final move set.
Hannibal (leftovers)
NAIVE Nature (-Sp. Def, + Speed)
-Faint Attack (need at least 1 offensive move)
-Toxic
-Confuse Ray
-Mean Look*
*might replace with Moonlight

Look.. Umby can't do crap with attacks. If you're going to use an offensive move, at least use something that is good. Pursuit>Faint Attack. BOLD/RELAXED NATURE!!!

Toxic and Confuse Ray are offensive...
Also, without Rest, you MIGHT get rid of ONE pokemon with Umby.

rest wont do crap and im not gonna rebreed an eevee just to get a bold or whatever specific nature i go with what i get (unless its Blaziken) and i work around it. And why the hell would i use pursuit over Faint Attack thats stupid as is rest

For someone who is asking for help, you sure don't seem very thankful. Is that because we didn't give you the answer you wanted? Umbreon is not meant to attack (that includes special attacks).
I have a set (most likely won't work because of its HP) that I want to try out:
Umbreon @ Leftovers
Toxic
Confuse Ray
Mean Look
Bite
Trap, Poison, Confuse, then attack with Bite. Chances are whatever you're fighting will flinch (provided you're faster). If they don't, there's always a chance of hitting itself. Yes, I know I used an attack.

"rest wont do crap"
hmmm.... trade 2 turns when I wouldnt do much anyway for full health and curing status conditions... yeah, thats just crap...
If you dont have rest, they can just use Toxic on Umby, and then, you my friend are zcrewed.
Umby is WAY too slow to flinch reliably enough to warrant replacing rest with bite...

I have a powerful Umbreon in Diamond. So here's his moveset:
Bite
Faint Attack
Moonlight
Dark Pulse
I hate moves that don't do damage unless they heal or cause some sort of status problem and even those are iffy. I like actually defeating my opponent with one or two Pokemon, so having moves on an Umbreon like Double Team, Mean Look, or Taunt is a big no for me.
I hatched him myself... His name is Naito and he's Naughty nature. Also, I didn't choose his nature and no I will not stop training him just because you say Umbreon is weak. Mine is quite strong actually, and yes it took a lot of time to get him as strong as he is now but I worked hard. He was bred knowing Wish, but I removed it so he could learn Moonlight.
This is all my opinion though, so if you think differently I'm not trying to change that. And if you think it's annoying that I like stating my opinion then I guess that's your problem.
