YGO:DM is better. Just because I've seen about 180 episodes of that.

It nice to see a duel that last more than 2 episodes. Also its nice to see duels where the number of cards played in 1 duel is in the double digits. If GX had some longer duels I might like it more.

Wow, Great spelling there. I like Yu-Gi-Oh. I mean c'mon, Its the original and the story is overall better. GX is good though.

Anyway. To my opinion [the one that counts, haha]

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters blows GX out of the waters in all ways.
Why?

Here's why:

-Better music composed. DM had the best music of the 2 shows.

-Better story. So many stories. [GX has NO story, and now that the new ones have a little bit of more depth to them, they still have too many plot and loop holes]

-The villains were kick ass. I mean come on. Who beats Bakura, Malik, and Dartz? No other.

They'res more but I don't want to say. These topics of DM vs. GX have been done to death.

Yeah, I mean why the heck did they go in such a diffrent direction. I just cant forget about Malik and Bakura, oh yeah cheap ass Dartz. It just does not make any sense what so ever to go from one extreme to the other.

Malik was pathetic as hell. He lost like five times to Yugi, using different decks each time, and he had shadow powers on his side. Yami Malik is a psychotic brainless freak. Normal Malik is redeemed for having half a brain and a background.

Yami Bakura was the ultimate villain.

Dartz was cool, but too cheap and evil.

GX has this Lux guy, who we haven't seen yet, Chronos, who is an ugly SOB, and Camilla, who is cheap like Dartz.

Not because of violence. I don't really care about violence as long as it doesn't go to either extreme(Fluffy-Happy-Time and Blood-Guts'n Gore are equally revolting to me).

Because it tailors closer to my interests! There is magic. It is sometimes used for "evil", sometimes used for "good". It comes in different forms. It doesn't do too much transformation, sadly, but it's still of interest.

There are people who live waaay-too-long. As long as they can die, I am fascinated by them.

There are Evil People Who Are Redeemed. I like that.

There are Shared Bodies. I like that also.

There is character development, continuity, and dragons. Yay.

Plus, sometimes the monsters are actually sentient. Not as often as I could wish, but hey.

Thus far GX seems a little lacking in each of these respects. Admittedly it's a relatively new series, and true, I've only ever seen one entire episode(No subtitles. Total bewilderment), but even so.

As a certain cat once said "Give it time. It'll show you plenty."

The way he was I mean he put then in a shadow game right away! The first time you see him he is all about getting into their heads with that shadow game. So hell yes I was thinking that this guy is going to play a big part!
