EV question

Ok, I looked in the FAQ n it didnt list it there (unless I had missed it and Im sorry). So Ima ask.
When you trade a pokemon from a game to another, it keeps its EVs right? As in, if it only has 30 or 100 or w/e of att/spd/ etc.? I just recently started again (got emerald, yay!) and I just wanted to double check. Thanks.

i hear that in emerald, evs can be lowered by certain berries. is that true? because that could be useful...

I tried it.

One of the berries said" Makes your pokemon adore you, but lowers base HP" or something to that effect. Used it on my Sceptile - the HP went down. I don't know if it has anything to do with EVs or not, but I'd rather keep the stat.

i would keep the stat too... unless i messed up (for example, i fought an extra pokemon so now i got too many attack EV's), so i guess that can come in handy if it in fact lowers EVs

Thats why they made those berries.

So if you accidently gave a Machamp special attack EVs, you could get rid of them...etc.
