View Full Version : Too Many Useless Cards
Soldier of Light

In the show the duelists seem to use a lot of usless cards or cards that are so situational. Their decks seem to be clutered with cards that could be only used in certain situations. Why is that, to make to duels more interesting or situational.?

It's because in the anime/manga good cards are supposed to be rare. Plus when the manga was created the cards Kazuki Takahashi created were as good or bad as he wanted them to be, since he had no idea that a card game would be created based on his creations.

dude its a show, get over it. mainly its only Joey and Yugi who use them (and since Yugi cheats he can pull whatever he wants) and Joey is an Idiot

Though characters decks (in the beggining) are somewhat situational..... as the series progresses they become more and more playable. I mean come on???? are u calling a BLS situational. BLS was used in yugis deck in gx. If u called bls "situational" in real live u would probably get laughed at. the anime and the manga weren't about how "situational" cards were. And there is no reason that they should change cards and there effects just to make them less situational. If u ask me one of the problems with this game today is that there are to many non situational cards that can be used wayyyyy to easily. And also yugi doesn't cheat. But ya joey is kinda stupid

The manga was created for entertainment. That's why Kazuki created crappy cards. Everyone loves Saagi the clown right?

Yeah, it's like their combos pull off nicely as if they were stacking. I guess it is too make it more exciting. I mean they have few duels with dead draws. Most of the time, they draw what they need at the moment and they never have bad hands, but godly topdecks especially Yami Yugi.

Guys, cool it. Let's not get aggressive. No flamiing is needed.
Onto the topic: Yes, the show is pretty lame until it gets into meaningful duels outside Yuugi/Joey players. They actually are your average Joes who don't cheat or are amazingly lucky. But...outside the lameness...you get a show everyone loves.

How can they cheat when,
A.The rules of the comic and Animé are diferent and came before the OCG and TCG?
B.The writers decide what happens in a duel.
C.You aren't looking at the whole picture.
*Sigh*
Next time you wanna act right, have some actual information that is right. You're just arguing blindly, and people like Ryusaki and me can easily hit you were it hurts, you aggnorance, your lack of information.

The only cheating is:
Bandit Kieth doing his card up the sleave tricks,
Seeker marking his cards,
Arkana trimming his best cards to end up on top,
Any duelist who uses counterfeit cards.

Yugi's deck is all ABOUT situational cards. It's meant to show "No matter how much more infinately playable Kaiba and Joey's decks are, I'll always win with a physically impossible topdeck." It's the thing those in the buisiness call "The I'm the hero" factor; pull a win, advance the plot, give the illusion the protagonist DIDN'T pee his pants in fear as the obscenely powerful monster bears down on him. The more impossible the win, the better! :D And Yeah, I buy into the theory that the Puzzle's hidden power is to stack the deck when Atem's under stress.

Seeker didn't mark his cards. My understanding of the original was that he used fake cards. And he also used three sets of Exodia, which was cheating.
Actually, he did mark his cards. He used invisible ink and a special contact lens (something like that) to see what he would draw next. Since he's a rare hunter, I don't think it would matter how many copies he had of a card in his deck, but I don't think the anime has any sort of banned/limited list.

So should this:
THE ANIME/MANGA IS A BILLION TIMES INFERIOR TO THE TCG
And this:
ANTI-DUB PEOPLE ARE EVEN STUPIDER THAN SCALERS, WHO IN TURN, ARE SO DUMB THEY DON'T EVEN FIT INTO THE "I'M SO STUPID I DERSERVE TO BE SHOT" CATEGORY.

If the anime never existed, you'd never have your TCG/OCG, Tyrant Dragon #2.

TyrantDragon #2, why are you posting here if you hate the anime?
And for the record, if the anime never existed, you'd never have your TCG/OCG. The whole thing started as a manga, you know.
And I wouldn't care. I wouldn't miss it because it would never exist.
I watch the anime so I can see dragons. Is that illegal? And yu-gi-oh is changed so little compared to the majority of other anime that the anti-dub people are just b*tching really.
I mean really. The anti-dub people confuse different with bad.
Look at the Pandora/Arcana duel, for example.
Really, what's more evil? Having your legs cut off, or having your very essence sleaed away in a place of darkness and (corrrect me if I'm wrong) demon for eternity?
Her'es the difference:
With one, you either die and therfore suffer very little, or live and have some pain and discomfort
With the other, you pretty much suffer for eternity
Comparing these two, having your legs cut off is a joke. It's also convenient. Seriously, imagine the anime (CRAPPY GENRE!) is real. I have to duel PAndora. I lose. Pandora's gay saw thing cuts my legs off. I take out a gun. I blow off Pandora's legs AND arms.
So yes, the anti-dub people are just btiching. And none of their *****ing has any credibility. Nobody cares about every little thought that goes on in your head.
