Question about Drill and Personality Opinion

I have a question about Physical Defense Drill. It says that you may discard any of your non-combats in play to stop a physical attack. Is it possible to discard the drill itself for its own effect, since it is a non-combat card? Also, I could use some opinions on Majin Vegeta. I got him when I bought a Buu saga Villian starter. That was my ONE deck to buy, so he is the personality I'm likely to use unless I can get a lucky trade for Majin Buu.
