What Would You do if the Yu-Gi-Oh! characters were real?

If the character's couldn't use their cards then they really wouldn't be using their same decks. To say that have to come into our world play with our rules and our cards and aren't allowed to use their cards that aren't in the OCG/TCG yet is like you aren't even dueling the character anymore. It's just like if I made a Mai character deck, sure you would probably beat it with a CCC deck but you aren't really duling Mai's deck since all of her cards don't exist int the game. Meh, if you want to do it that way, then you are simply dueling character decks and not the characters.

Good post! Sensible, without the overblown ego evident in some of the other posts. And I don't know how happy Takahashi would be. I made a thread a while back- "If The Characters Met The Creator"- and they wouldn't be happy with him for making their lives the way they were made.

In a sense they are real, because they have an anime and a manga series, one at least is shown often on card tins, and people think of them as real personalities. You can't love or hate something or someone without them becoming real in some way.

As for the physical, solid people who match their anime counterparts in appearance, personality, voice, etc... well, the closest you could come would involve cosplayers. Some cosplayers work hard. Others... *cough*

And I doubt they would let you ****/murder/steal from them. Sorry, but somehow I have doubts that your little fantasies would work out just the way you plan them.

I saw this thread, and decided to post something on my mind even though it's dying (in my opinion). What I would do if they were in the real world?

Make them only use cards that have actually been released, no "new effects" or new cards. I know Anime/Manga was out before TCG but some cheap EGC summon would screw most decks over....no heritic chanting for you, Marik! This also means that they cant change their decks because we have cards that the anime hasnt used yet. No Cookie Cutter Warrior Chaos. Just plain old sucking starters for everyone, basicly. I'd tear Pharoh a new one. Play a proxy Seal of Orichacos too just to scare him. Also, Tea, Joey, Tristan and all them other "good" ones would have to go down. Maybe introduce Millinium Items just to seal them in the Shadow Relm-this crap about love 'n friendship is really gettting to me. Lets face it- Kaiba in the real world would be power hungry, as would Pegasus. Yugi would be going crazy for Tea and not caring about the card game, as would Joey for Mai. Tristian....I just dont know.

Now, if we were in their world, pretty much the same owning of their decks. Go ahead, play exodia on me, Yugi. Give me infinite damage. or obelisk for that matter. My Dark Magician will let me activate Magic Cylinder and laugh at you. Or let you get all your precious god cards/ critas/ tomias /hellmos or whatever else makes your deck oh so awesome-I can just pull of basic moves and crush you. Marik (Yami) Bakura (Yami) are kinda cool...I'd help them...maybe. I can see why Pharoh is all good and crap but for gods sake hes a freakin pharoh....its not gonna be ill decide the fate of the world w/ cards. It should be something better. Use magic. Or something. Whuttup! Palen3000 here! Assuming the characters are real or that I would end up in their world, I would be friends with Yugi & his crew, and help them duel against a common foe. Believe me, I got the deck that can get the job done. Then I'd enroll at Duel Academy & duel everyone there. Their better not be any pompous ***es over there or I'll duel them even harder.

I think I can beat Yugi if we were dueling in real life, 'cause his the Eygptian God cards are banned from play here, & with a decent deck, anyone can beat him. Wheeler would be kinda tougher in real life 'cause warrior decks are one of the toughest themes in the game, and he does have some pretty good cards in his arsonal. Tea's deck (if it's like the video games) would drive opponents to fustration, not because you can't beat her, but because her deck keeps her healed at all times, and a you'll need a strong deck to beat her. Kaiba would not just beat you with his deck, he'd anilalate you. But he does have a weekness that can be exploted in a real life duel. Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon can be really tough to bring out. And ****, anyone can beat a Toon Deck, right.

A good Elemental Hero deck is hard to build, expecually if you use fusions. Jaden won't have the same luck he has in the anime. Aster Phoenix is the same with his Destiny Heros. Syrus is easy, but watch out for his trap cards. They're championship quality. Ancient Gear decks are easy to beat. I've beaten one during one of my playtesting sessions. The low AP of the Ancient Gear Soldiers may be the reason. Zane'll be tough, probably the toughest. Hassleberry's dinosaurs would be tough too.

There are a TON of things better out there than that overly drawn-out, flashback and reversal/fakeout happy power level fest. Especially since its predecessor had a sense of humor and absurdity mostly absent at this point.
