Hi, i'm having difficulty resetting the time - difficulty being i can't do it. I know that G/S/C had a code where you can reset your time and i was wondering if there was a similar code in R/S?

To my knowledge there is no way to reset the time short of resetting your game.

What Sturgy said.

You couldn't reset the clock in Crystal, either. In RS, the clock doesn't even change for DST, unless I'm mistaken.

Nope, it doesn't.
Which I think is lame, because the clock isn't very accurate in the first place...mine is about thirty minutes off, even though I had set it right. =\

The time malfunction in Ruby/Sapphire, also known widely as the “Berry Glitch” since the berries depend on time, was first discovered in the Japanese versions. The internal clock of the game malfunctioned after a year of operating the game. This is of course, affects all time related events in the game. Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire was released in Japan back in November 21, 2002. However, Ruby/Sapphire has yet to be one year old in the US, which was released back in March 18, 2003 (only about 2 months away). Meaning, you have to play it for a year, for the time to start malfunctioning. It was never confirmed whether or not this will affect the US games, but now it has.
What it’s talking about there is the ability to transfer Jirachi to your Ruby/Sapphire game. If you didn’t know already, if you pre-order Pokemon Colosseum (beginning February 9, 2004), you will get a Bonus Disc that contains Jirachi, in which you can transfer it to your Ruby/Sapphire game.
What it doesn’t mention is that it’s a big error Nintendo made on the game. The “blessing” is actually a hidden fix for the game. It was worded as if they planned it this way (of course, it’s an error, the way they said it, just sounds better).
Starting a game over will not fix the problem. In Japan, Nintendo offered a free fix in their service centers. It’s not known whether this offer will be available in the US. Nintendo has yet to formally address the issue until now. Check here in the news for any new updates about the Berry Glitch.

So basically, unless we get a Gamecube and order/buy Pokémon Collosseum...we're screwed? =\
I haven't even started on the Contests yet either, and I bought my Sapphire the day it came out...

You might be able to send it into Nintendo... but you'd probably have to pay for shipping both ways...
best way... reserve PC and pay the $5 for the preorder disc... rent / borrow a GC...you dont even need to buy PC...

Thats the only way you need Jirachi because hes programed to fix it not any jirachi the one on the disc that gets added to PC then you can trade it to your version

Absol's saying that you don't have to pay them the other $45 when the game comes out... and at Gamestop, in order to recieve bonus things (Ru/Sa coin, LoZ bonus disk) you have to pay $15 instead of the usual $10.

why would nintendo do that just to make 5 dollars when they can use this oppurtunity to make 50 from each person who still want to play there r/s like normal
Absol
01-31-2004, 08:41 AM
they dont want you to just pay for the preorder... but you can still probably do it...

The clock does not add that much to the gameplay as there is no longer a night or a day.

bumping this for the people who still need to find this out about r.s
Absol

you dont need to bump it... if someone reall needed to know, they would ask about it and they could be told to search for this thread...
Venusaur1

then that would be a wasted topic when a bunch of people need clarification about this. they can just referr here instead of 20 people pointing them to go to this topic

Bumping topics is against the rules...
You had good intentions though, don't get me wrong.
Maybe this should be included in the help topic?

different boards have different rules...
in trading forums, it is different as someone new may come to the board and want to trade for whatever the thread starter has...

For the japanese versions nintendo is fixing them for free if you send them. It is not yet known if this will be the case in the US
